Republican Votes In Maryland Being Electronically Flipped To Democrats

NewsMax reports

Maryland, Illinois Voting Machines May be Rigged for Democrats Tuesday, 28 Oct 2014 11:28 AM

By Melanie Batley

A number of voting machines in Maryland and Illinois are electronically switching Republican votes to the Democrats, raising suspicions that fraud could be at the root of the alleged malfunction.

According to Watchdog.org, election officials in both states have characterized the problem as a “calibration issue,” but a software developer and expert on touch screens used by U.S. intelligence agencies told Newsmax that the explanation was bogus.

“It’s a software issue, and it’s incredibly suspicious that a bug like that could slip through accidentally. It defies belief,” said Tony Heller.

He said that any expert trained in the technology could figure out within minutes whether the problem with the software was accidental and deliberate.

“This is being used by the public for voting. Public trust is essential,” he said. “It’s completely unacceptable that an official waved it off as a calibration issue. It’s something that can be easily verified and should be.”

Maryland, Illinois Voting Machines May be Rigged for Democrats!

The reason I am in Maryland is to develop touch screen software used by US intelligence services. Calibration error on these devices is normally a few pixels. An error that large (dozens of pixels) is almost certainly a software problem.

It would be easy to determine and essential for the public trust that the entire revision control of their source code is made public. Only open source code should be permitted for government operations.

It is totally unacceptable that this problem was found by voters, rather than election officials. What are they paid for? How many Republican votes were miscounted as Democrats? This type of violation of trust destroys the most fundamental underpinnings of our system of government.

Maryland verifies their system based on the number of votes recorded. Apparently it doesn’t matter if they recorded the vote correctly. The state’s definition of accuracy and error rate is absurd.

Advantages of Maryland’s Voting System
Accuracy

One way to measure the accuracy of a voting system is to calculate and compare voter error rates. The more accurate the voting system is, the fewer number of voter errors there will be. Voter error rate is the number of voters who voted but did not have a vote counted for a specific contest on the ballot (typically President or Governor). This is calculated by subtracting the total number of votes cast for President or Governor from the total number of voters who voted.

Using this measure, Maryland had the lowest voter error rate in the country in 2004. (See Residual Vote in the 2004 Election, CalTech/MIT Voting Technology Project.) In the 2004 General Election, only 0.3% of the voters who voted did not have a vote recorded for President. This is a 40% reduction from 2000 – the last election when optical scan and punchcard voting systems and mechanical lever machines were used for polling place voting in Maryland.

Maryland’s transition to a touchscreen voting system from paper-based and older voting systems improved the accuracy of the vote count and reduced the number of voter errors. Our results are consistent with findings reported in the same CalTech/MIT Voting Technology Project report, which shows that implementing a touchscreen voting system reduces voter error.

Glad to see you are interested in calling attention to the absolutely corrupt political machine that exists in Maryland. It is worse than many African nations. I know you are used to being threatened and harassed from the left, but attacking that machine could take you to a whole new level with respect to state and local agencies.

  2. Pathway says:

Say it ain’t so. Democrats cheating at election time?

  3. Mike D says:

All these “calibration issues” are in the favor of Democrats. I’ve never heard of one going the other way. Meaning that they are intentional. But we knew that. For things like this, there should be people certifying that things have been tested within spec, under criminal penalties.

I am surprised that they interviewed you about them. Normally they would have gotten someone who would have said something more like, well these things happen with technology and now it’s been fixed.

  4. Edmonton Al says:

    What’s next?
Are the authorities just going to let the fraud continue?

    • Are you suggesting that the perpetrators will investigate themselves?

      • Edmonton Al says:

Well, being a Canadian, I am not aware of the possible actions that could be taken.
I was thinking of a Senate investigative committee or special prosecutor.
One just can’t shoot the bastards. .. or can they? ;^D

    • The local or state law-enforcement authorities will never investigate things like this without the request of a local or state elections officer.

Now that I think about it, it seems to me that the only feasible solution is to have a constitutional amendment at the state level that would provide for a special prosecutor to be convened to investigate vote-counting violations that involve state or local races.

For federal races, the Congress is the final judge of its own elections. They can launch investigations with nothing more than a word from a majority leader, Speaker of the House, or relevant committee chairman. But unfortunately, the House can only investigate House elections. It cannot investigate Senate races.

I don’t know about Maryland, but in Florida any regular citizen sticking their nose into something like that will almost certainly wish they hadn’t. In Hillsborough County, there was a county elections supervisor who was trying to reign in this very same problem, and you know what happened? While she was attending a conference of elections supervisors in Daytona Beach, she turned up dead in her hotel room of unknown causes. Care to guess what happened after that?

The coroner’s office announced that while they couldn’t rule out foul play, there was not going to be an autopsy! This statement of theirs was quoted above the fold on the front page of The Tampa Tribune, then a conservative-leaning newspaper. And no-bahdy said nada after that! Why? ‘Cause everyone knows that if it could happen to that nice, unassuming elderly woman, it could happen to anyone.

  7. rah says:

What is unacceptable is that ANY means of voting/vote counting that is susceptible to electronic fraud and in which tabulations and the methods by which they are compiled are hidden or not understandable to laymen like poll watchers is allowed to be used in ANY election of government officials ANYWHERE in this country. 8. Timo Puhakka says:

In Toronto we just had our municipal elections yesterday. Giant computer cards. You fill in the missing middle part of the arrow which points to your candidate’s name. The card is then read through a card reader. If there is need for a recount, for any reason, you still have a piece of card stock with the marks the voter made. I would not trust a computer to count the votes unless there was a paper backup like we have.

  9. AZ1971 says:

And it’s the Democrats – not Republicans – who are most actively pushing for online voting from remote locations (cell phones, homes, etc.) Obviously public trust is only relevant when and if you’re planning to support the DNC.

  11. Dave1billion says:

Maybe what they call “calibration issues” aren’t what a tech head calls calibration issues.

As a software developer I come across communication issues like that all of the time.

    BUT …

Also as a developer, who would design an interface such that the “touch fields” would be so close together that a minor “calibration error” could actually trigger an erroneous vote rather than register as a non-vote. We’ve all seen touch screens where we had to feel around before our selection got registered. Space those fields out.

If it fails, make it so that the fail doesn’t record ehe exact opposite of the intended result.

  12. policycritic says:

Bev Harris of http://blackboxvoting.org has been on this for years. She discovered how the fraud was being done via the software, and provided (at one time) the software she discovered in election machines so that you could replicate how the fraud was being done. I downloaded it and saw it myself. Think there are some youtubes about her. I know there are videos of the experts she used appearing in court. Her website has been revamped but I saw that she intends to bring all of her archived articles over.

  13. Dr. Dan says:

I am a chief election office for a precinct in Virginia. First, It is my contention that election officials at the precinct level are our first line of defense against voter fraud and that widespread voter fraud cannot happen without the duplicity of those election officers. In our case, we perform the calibration on our screen before the polls open, and can redo it at any time. Moreover, If these cases were an issue of “calibration” then those who vote for Democrat candidates would also be complaining that their vote is not being counted.

  14. ntesdorf says:

It’a a “calibration issue” alright! The issue is to get as many Democrats elected by any means, fair or foul. Nothing to see here, move along folks!

  15. Jim Jensen says:

If the machines were ever fixed to record all Republican votes as Democrat votes and all Democrat votes as Democrat votes, then 90% or so of the results would be Democrat votes. All you have to do is wait till the election results are in and then when some machines show 90% Democrat votes, we will know that the fix is on. Another possibility is that this is all another scam to get people to read the new and exciting news about someone is cheating. Similar to “If it bleeds, It leads.”

    • The “calibration issue” is a distraction. It is put out there to distract from the much worse problems of the vote-tabulation methods, and the issues of sock-puppet voting and non-citizen voting. These are where the greatest fraud happens, and they can’t have people focusing on that. So they dangle the shiny object of a touch-screen vote being flipped. Woo-oo-oo! Gasp! You can almost hear all the hubbub as the crowd gets worked up. Meanwhile … while people gather round to squint and inspect the “problem” up at the front of the store, the thieves are rushing out the back door with everything they can carry.

    • Only a complete moron would attempt to cheat 100% of the time.

      • That’s correct. But to put my point a slightly different way: they don’t have to be particularly smart. All they need is to be marginally less dumb than those they’re cheating against, and they can steal every election.

This is getting downright depressing. Most people have to see what is happening to this country is going to be a disaster for the middle class (Tom Steyer and George Soros will do fine) but to have one’s right to vote just made null and void and by Communists posing as Democrats?

  22. Bob Knows says:

“It is totally unacceptable that this problem was found by voters, rather than election officials. What are they paid for?” What they are paid for is switching the majority of votes to Democrats regardless of what the voters wanted. They are paid BIG money for throwing elections.

  23. Herve D says:

American, you still beleive you are in democracy !! Naïve people. You are, as many other countries’ population are, under a fake democratic system, indeed an hypochrital system controlled by money, hence corruption. Starting by people minds’ mediatic manipulation, fake ballots, lies, campaign promises never made, full abscence of independent Justice body to check whether elected people do implement what they did promise before, and so on.
These systems are as bad as soviet union system into which opposing Communist Party factions where competing, as Dems and Reps do in US.
Only one country has a not too bad democratic system: Switzerland because population can trigger “votations” despite the will of government and its issues are mandatory.
You dont have tht in US but you have a couple of fair Constitution Amendments available…
    So, dont cry; Act.

  24. Bob Webster says:

Assuming these were early voting problems, given the date of the story and these posts.

Gee, maybe this is the same “calibration” issues that require all historic climate data to be revised (provided it suits those trying to peddle the fraud of human-caused-global-warming). For climate, we simply flip historically warm/hot temperatures to cool/cold, thus confirming the claim that recent warming is “unprecedented” and “real” and, it MUST be caused by humans because, well, it just MUST be in order to keep the billions in grant money flowing.

This false front precipitated the Solyndra-type scandals where wealthy donors to “green” politicians received enormous public funds to squander on immature alternate energy technologies while the US has the world’s largest reserves of carbon-based energy being throttled back by these same “green” politicians.

Meanwhile, the ignoramuses in Washington, DC, have us buying $15 lightbulbs when they should be available for no more than 1/10th that price. That’s something the new GOP Congress should do… scrub the ban on incandescent bulbs. We all know the energy savings, but not everyone can afford the cost of being super-green to please the morons who believe carbon-based fuels are causing climate warming.

As is always the case with high corruption, follow the money.
