President Barack Obama has committed the US to a huge reduction in fossil fuels usage. A good place to start would be New York – which loves Obama and uses 3,500,000,000,000,000 BTU’s of energy every year. A whopping five percent of their energy is from “renewables” – most of which is hydroelectric.
Power companies should immediately reduce New York’s supply of energy by 20%, and turn them into the good citizens of the world which they long to be.

Maybe he could start by not demanding that Osprey aircraft not be used to fly his dog around.

As I have been driving along the NY Thruway (I-90 Toll Road) this year I have noticed as the state has erected new wind turbines at the toll stations along the road. Have yet to see any of them working though.
NY is the only state left it seems that uses people to hand out the toll tickets. Everywhere else I go the tickets are dispensed by machines. Make work socialism.

I have lived in New York state my entire life. There are two “New Yorks”: downstate NY, which includes the five boroughs of NYC, Yonkers and the surrounding suburbs, and upstate NY which is everything else. Downstate indeed does love Obama, but upstate not so much. If you look at a red/blue map of NY, you will see that, by area, it is predominantly red. The state is very politically polarized, but the urban population always trumps the conservative upstate rural population in state and national elections.
Winter may help New York reach that goal pretty soon by shutting down the New England grid because of over demand caused by record low temperatures. Modern furnaces need electricity to operate.

Yo! I lived through the Great Black Out of 1977!
We had PLENTY of light thanks to my lovely neighbors (guess who!) that set the entire neighborhood on fire. They looted and burned nearly everything and I had a nice night on the roof keeping it wet with a hose. Until the water pressure failed.
Pulling the plug on Manhattan would be a good start…
