With Antarctic sea ice at a record high, northern hemisphere snow cover near a record high, and Arctic sea ice at a decadal high, government climate experts say that it is the hottest year ever.

Reblogged this on Climatism and commented:

  2. Edward. says:

Huh!…..how about that……..and a deafening silence ex Cambridge umbrage-man Wadham [Prof’?] or, anything to say Mark [NCSID-Serreze]?

UM! No sign YET – of Arctic sea ice death spiral, yeah OK………. it is November but imvho……Gadzooks and all, the Arctic sea ice is looking very healthy and of course…………… it’s Poley bears – on ice.

  3. Robertv says:

Are there still people who trust the government?

  4. Chris Barron says:

Or it may be that temperature in no way affects ice coverage….

(‘holds sides and rolls about laughing’)

  5. Eliza says:

This looks like it may be a big story (AGWscam 22Billion)

  6. Robertv says:

Don’t forget that sea ice traps heat. Without it oceans would be much colder.

  7. Billy Liar says:

We always have more ice when it’s hotter. It’s all down to Global Warming™.

  8. renbe says:

In the mean time, Australia is suffering under scorching high temperatures. The one doesn’t exclude the other and the global temperature in 2014 will be way above average again.

    • marque2 says:

And when were these scorching high temperatures, I believe they were for a week or two last Summer.

    • David A says:

The oceans SSTs are responsible for the high mean T. The land, even with bogus adjustments, is not so hot. Hum??, now the magic molecule only warms the ocean surface, and the ocean deep, and bypasses the land??? Sorry, but solar insolation warms the oceans, with GHG playing very little role

BTW the satellites do not show anywhere near a record T

    • Leigh says:

We’re heading into summer and its nothing unusual.
The global warmists here would have you thinking otherwise.
And if there is such a thing as ‘global average temperature”, is that before or after homogenisation?
Meanwhile halfway across the country there was no big song and dance about this report.

    • Andrew says:

Suffering under PREDICTED high temps. “It’s going to be 40C!!!!” Actual temp: 34C. Sydney “heatwave.” Actual temp: 27C.

    • Gail Combs says:

      YUP,

That is why one of your elected officials is demanding answers from the BOM

George Christensen, Australian MP, calls for an inquiry into the BOM: The media finally notices
Momentum is growing. In Federal Parliament this week George Christensen (Nationals party, Qld) gave an excellent summary of questions Jennifer Marohasy and I have been raising about the Bureau of Meteorology, and announced he would be calling for an inquiry.

It’s long past time. Why does the BOM have so little curiosity about the burning Australian heat before 1910? Why do older thermometers seem to need correction 90 years later for reading “too warm”? Why do so many hot or dry empirical measurements remain invisible in our national conversation about the climate? And with so many questions, why do the Bureau insist they are 95% certain they know what they are talking about?….

    • Marsh says:

Last Winter in Australia (July ) there were record Low Temperatures and SNOW in many Towns for the first time in more than half a Century. ( The Lows outweigh the Hot )…

  9. It is I only says:

Arctic Sea Ice Extent At Its Highest Level In Over A Decade
This due because warm water sink to the bottom & pushes upward ice forming cold water to the surface!
As told by a “respected” Australian Global Warming Scientist…

    • ben says:

      Bahahahahaha
He can also count to potato. Backwards!

Hey Renbe, I’m in Australia…It’s not scorching. It’s not even all that hot for this time of year, I’d say quite cool so far. There are a few hot areas up north… but that’s Australia, not sure if you are aware of this, but it gets fucking hot here sometimes in summer, woop-di-fucking-doo!!

      • stewart pid says:

Ben, for the true believers summertime is all the proof they need that GLO-BULL warming is real 😉
I think it gets back to that “IQ of a turnip” thing that Tony is always on about!!

  10. Doug says:

Is there a graph similar to this one which would show each year compared to others dating back to 1979? (or whenever it was exactly that satellite measurements began). I realize that would be a lot of data, but it might be useful and interesting to go back further if possible.

  11. Quick says:

Record low extent in March. What a difference 4 months makes, huh? Arctic sea ice is “recovering” ! lol
