Twenty-five years ago, the President of theĀ United States was actually working for the United States and against communism. Almost inconceivable now, after the past six years.

And the stupid elites in his cabinet kept removing the words ” tear down this wall” because it might offend the commies. Same kind of stupidity that is now in complete control of Amerika.
Good thing he knew what he needed to say without a teleprompter… instead of being defined by one.
+1
To be fair, some people believe it’s possible to be working for the United States and for communism.
In my neighborhood, they overlap with those who believe they can feel bad vibrations from genetically modified food, that atmospheric CO2 causes the flooding of cities built in the flood plains at the mouths of canyons, and that George Soros is the Good Shepherd.
Reagan understood the difference between a real threat and an imagined threat. That wall was the symbol and a symtom of the real communist threat to the United States and all Western allies.
CAGW is now the symbolic communist wall, but this time the communists are among us. And again this is a true threat to America and Western allies way of life – though this time the wall is in the communist collectivists’ minds of the CAGW true believers.
Now communism is much more a threat from within.
It they access to the white house. Obama might not be full commie, but he has a lot of friends that are.
For all the flaws that Reagan and W had there was no doubt they acted and were Presidential. I have never once thought that of Obama.
You can make a case for David Hassleoff bringing down the wall, Reagan’s speech was in 87 and not well attended.
25 years ago, HW Bush was president, not Reagan.
But, as always, don’t let reality intervene.
I suggest Ex-Lax to help with your affliction.
I remember well the leftists here and in Europe raising hell about Reagan deploying Pershing II intermediate range missiles to Europe. They fought Reagan on everything as he wrestled with the Soviet Bear. The press here painted him as an extremist that was going to start WW III. But Reagan just made his jokes about liberals and defeated both the progressives AND led the free world in defeating the Soviets. The greatest President of my 59 year life time hands down.
I was there during those years. The morons did not make a peep when the Soviets deployed their SS-20s and aimed them at western capitals but they started screaming that Reagan will get them all killed when NATO equalized the Soviet threat with the American Pershings.
We should probably not forget the “Iron Lady”. Her support of Reagan was unique in the Western world at that time. Margaret Thatcher, the Greatest PM of GB of my life time.
Sorry! GB should have been UK.
