If you put your thumb over the end of the hose, the pressure at all points behind your thumb increases. Yet the water continues to flow the same direction. How can that possibly be?

Hoses , blankets, what next Steve. Now we’ve got this analogy of some “back pressure” in the atmosphere. It seems that those who will survive this catastrophic global warming will be the ones with the strongest eardrums.
If I put my large strong manly thumb over the end of the hose, all water flow stops.. period.
On a serious note, these posts are Mosherizing in that they are getting more and more cryptic.
If I turn the tap handle off (instead of sticking a thumb over the end of the hose) I didn’t know water kept flowing behind the tap.
“If I put my large strong manly thumb over the end of the hose, all water flow stops.. period.”
Have you changed the direction of the flow?
No, his water pressure is crappy!
Try stopping water that is being pumped into a hose. No human can do this, no matter how hard you try, it sprays out pretty much in a fine spray. And yes, it is impossible to make it go backwards even if it is only gravity fed water pressure.
“No, his water pressure is crappy!”
I don’t get the correlation; probable non-sequitur in your statement.
No it don`t(dot).
I think it would be easier to convert a Muslim terrorist to a Jew.
Because the velocity increases.
If you have a big and strong enough thumb, the flow stops. If you were as strong as Hercules, you might even be able to get an instantaneous flow in the other direction, at least until the fluid is fully compressed, by inserting a finger into the hose (without any leaks).
And this has nothing to do with a free flowing gaseous atmosphere.
It is your use of bad analogies that are creating straw man arguments that avoid the central premise of the greenhouse gas theory.

Sadly today not many will understand this and with common core it will be even worse!
