UN Grants The Planet A Century Long Reprieve

Celebrate! The UN has granted Earth a 100 year reprieve from global warming.

In 1989, the UN said we had until the end of the 20th century to save the planet from global warming – but now they say we have until the end of the 21st century.

Does this mean that those standing trees that the Muar Glacier buried only 1,500 years ago have to now go back into cold storage?

Those goalposts have been moved so many times they are wearing out.

    • squid2112 says:

That’s why they have now outfitted them with wheels.

    • rah says:

In fact they’re so far down the field now who that is reading now will be alive to see those goal posts ? Out of Sight out of Mind! Sure would like to see how their “models” came to project this when before they had said we would be suffering catastrophic effects by now. Almost seems like a capitulation since nothing substantial they have predicted has come to pass we will make our projection of doom so far into the future that it won’t be challenged because NOBODY WILL GIVE A #$%^.

      • stpaulchuck says:

they just go back and post a ‘revised’ document and then point the easily led morons to it while telling them that the predictions came true after all

  4. The UN report scares me.
I’m frightened too many decision makers will take the alarming conclusions seriously and pass draconian laws to save the world.

  5. Eric Simpson says:

Hotair has a post on a NY Times piece saying that a UN Panel has concluded that there will be “dire effects” from climate change. Well that’s something new, lol. My comment:

    Dire effects?

Like 18 years of no warming. Oh, how devastating. And the 1930s, in the US at least, was hotter than today. And when you get past all the Climategate documented & ideologically motivated data manipulations by the supposed experts, it’s quite likely that the entire globe was hotter in 1930s. Yeah, that’s really dire global warming for you. And how about a decline in the level of hurricanes and tornadoes? That’s just catastrophic. And sea level? There’s been no change in the virtually microscopic rate of sea level rise. And there’s not going to be any change.

The whole things a joke. And CO2? It doesn’t do squat as far as affecting temperatures. That, according to the ice core evidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK_WyvfcJyg&info=GGWarmingSwindle_CO2Lag

  6. Eric Simpson says:

I also this comment at the hotair post:

And I forgot about Antarctic sea ice. That’s at record levels. Of course that’s totally contrary to what the warmist fear mongers have said would happen. Record ice. The world is really melting away. Not! And Arctic ice, that the Chicken Littles have made such a squawk about, that’s dramatically higher that a cyclical low that was reached two years ago. The leftists and enviro-extremists need to find a whole nother thing to try to get society to de-industrialize because global warming er “climate change” just isn’t cutting it anymore.

“In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that the threat of global warming.. would fit the bill… and thus the real enemy, then, is humanity itself….we believe humanity requires a common motivation, namely a common adversary in order to realize world government. It does not matter if this common enemy is a real one or… one invented for the purpose.” -Club of Rome
“We’ve got to ride the global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing.” -leftist Senator Tim Wirth, 1993
“We have to offer up scary scenarios… each of us has to decide the right balance between being effective and being honest.” -Stephen Schneider, lead ipcc author, 1989
“Unless we announce disasters no one will listen.” -Sir John Houghton, first ipcc chair
“The only way to get our society to truly change is to frighten people with the possibility of a catastrophe.” -Daniel Botkin, ex Chair of Environmental Studies, UCSB
“It’s time for climate change deniers to have their opinions forcibly tattooed on their bodies. Not necessarily on the forehead; I’m a reasonable man. Just something along their arm or across their chest.” -leftist Richard Glover, Sydney Morning Herald

The IPPC has gone “all in” Top story here today

They need to be careful about going “full…..”

    Cheers

    • Andy Oz says:

The IPCC has been in “full retard” for decades. Unelected political apparatchiks with snouts in the trough of taxes defrauded from western workers. Disgraceful.

  8. Eric Simpson says:

I don’t want to hog this thread, but I’m really on a roll with my 4th comment at the hotair post on the UN shenanigans:

If the state of climate change in the US ever becomes sufficiently dire that action is necessary, you won’t have to drum up support – you’ll have it. People tend to believe their lying eyes over those who would benefit from their unwarranted panic. In life, existential threats must have some teeth to be credible.

Immolate on November 2, 2014 at 1:39 PM

    HUGE point.

And look at my 3 posts above. Especially the 12:50pm post. It’s like, for decades, nothing has happened. Look outside, and it’s just the same as it ever was. Now no warming for two decades, probably the ’30s was hotter than today, record ice levels or record ice growth rates at both poles, no increase in extreme weather. Finally, please check out this outstanding and persuasive 3 minute video that exposes the ipcc and especially Al Gore’s disingenuous bs and lies about CO2. It’s clear, historically, considering ice core data going back hundreds of thousands of years, that CO2 has not had any discernible affect on climate temperatures, none, nada, ZILCH: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK_WyvfcJyg&info=GGWarmingSwindle_CO2Lag

    • Eric Simpson says:

Ok, i hate to be the only one replying to my own comments (or Liking them if there were Likes here), but at the hotair post on the UN idiocy, we had these comments that I gots to replay here:

“Continued emission of greenhouse gases will cause further warming and long-lasting changes in all components of the climate system, increasing the likelihood of severe, pervasive and irreversible impacts for people and ecosystems,” the report declared.

Except for the last eighteen years when all that and more was supposed to happen as well.

Wait’ll their next Big Lie: Global Stasis!

The deadly trend of no change!

We must all sacrifice to get the climate moving again!

      Or WE’RE DOOOOOOOOMED!

      • Progressive politicians will love the idea of Dangerous Anthropogenic Climate Stasis:

“Let me be perfectly clear. I don’t have time for discussions with science deniers. I have to go back to work for the American people. We have to get the climate moving again for Amercian families.”

        • American, you piddly little gadget keyboard …

        • Eric Simpson says:

The leftist fear mongers will say: “There’s no doubt that human emissions are causing this stall out in the climate. The question is, is it a dangerous inevitably catastrophic stall out? Unequivocally, the answer is yes. We are doomed, unless we cut those emissions, to the bone. And when I say ‘human emissions’ I don’t mean those coming from industry. Instead I am talking about those emissions that comes from both ends. And the only way to seriously cut that back is… you guessed it.”

“The Earth has a cancer and the cancer is Man.” -Club of Rome
“If I were reincarnated, I would wish to be returned to Earth as a killer virus.” -Prince Phillip, WWF
“A cancer is an uncontrolled multiplication of cells; the population explosion is an uncontrolled multiplication of people. We must shift our efforts from the treatment of the symptoms to the cutting out of the cancer.” -Paul Ehrlich, Stanford

      • stpaulchuck says:

awww come on, keep up! didn’t you know the ocean stole their warming? Of course the oceans are playing “keep away” because as soon as we try to measure the heat it moves to another ocean, and then moves again. stupid oceans.

  9. Nathan says:

I know this is a little off topic but I’m getting really tired of it. The NWS has on several occasions this year missed and incorrectly reported wrong high temperature readings for my area. Today was suppose to be hot actually really hot for this time of the year at 78. I have two temp recorders and one says 68.5 and the other 69 which is still slightly warmer then avg but barely and it’s cooling off. I just looked at nws and they are reporting 76 and still holding that we will reach 78. I think they are way off again!

  10. Mike says:

I love how Global Warming Physics obeys the laws of the UN. Or maybe the Sun thinks the UN are idiots. I don’t know, but I’m on Great Lake Freezing watch.

  11. Ernest Bush says:

By 2100 if the current weather/climate doesn’t change, Earth’s population of human’s will be a fraction of today’s population. Nothing more needs to be done to curb it. Most countries outside of Africa have fertility rates below that needed to keep the population stable. Population should peak around 2045 or 2050 and fall off rapidly after that if nothing else changes. Not my figures, but if you look at the fertility rate charts published by the CIA, The World Bank, and the UN you will draw the same conclusion. The average of all of Europe is down around 1.5. 2.1 is needed just to sustain.Since it took most of us on this planet to drag technology to where it is today, what happens when there are not enough people to sustain it?

  12. tom0mason says:

Hey! UN where’s our refund – we’ll put the check in the post next century.
They stolen our money, now thay say the catastrophe isn’t for a hundred years.
    GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK.

  13. secryn says:

Your headline reminds me of an old Rodney Dangerfield joke:

Went to see my doctor the other day.
Doctor says, “Bad news Rod. You’ve only got 6 months to live. And here’s your bill.”
I looked at the bill and said, “Wow! Things are tight for me doc. I can’t pay this right now.”
So the doc gives me another 6 months.
