I happened to pass through Beijing during APEC last week and the air was amazingly clear. They had shut down most factories and limited vehicle traffic. Emission controlls will work wonders.

It was no deal. Obama agreed. He can best fulfill his agreement by stopping his CO2 production. Unfortunately, that would put Biden in the White House. So we are screwed either way.

Obama is China’s friend. Unfortunately, he is not a friend of the American public.

More than China’s friend, he is simply in bed with the greens at all costs. He still will block Keystone even though there is no rational reason and many reason to proceed with it including jobs and being amicable with our friend and neighbor to the north.
Two of the tragedies of the entire AGW charade which are not being considered often is that real environmental concerns and appropriate action are overlooked and secondly in the future scientists with integrity that present genuine concerns with honest and correct degrees of concern will not be trusted.—- Crying wolf is bad and in particular is to be avoided in scientific doctrine.
As a caveat, I do believe there are many scientists who work tangentially to the warming science, who assume the doctrine is correct and simply add to it.
In particular those observing changes which are real and have been real since the beginning of the little ice age. They are simply too lazy and perhaps too concerned with their own career (publish or parish) to step back and take a long honest look.
–That is why scientists like William Grey (sp?) should be given special honors.

No, no, no, Tony. You have to use a photo of a power plant when the sun is in the right position and you can see the water vapour rising from the stacks and you can point to it and say … “dirty!”.

  6. mitigatedsceptic says:

Without USA & China coming to some agreement, however feeble, the upcoming Paris Conference will run on the rocks and Omama would share the odium. Now he can retire without worrying about his green credentials and yes, of course he will block the pipeline and get a round of applause from the greenies. The Paris event is crucial to the survival of Agenda 21 and ‘sustainable development’ which means destroy the industrial West and keep the Third World at bay by removing the reasons for envy.
