We’re All Bitter Clingers Now

The Dems were BIG losers everywhere tonight! I couldn’t believe it.
And you know who else lost? BIG CLIMATE! Let the defunding begin!!
They have adjusted the raw data to the red end of the spectrum I see.
Very good result for the Republicans, been rocky for them in certain areas in last couple of years but really strong showing now. It will be interesting to see what happens now in the next two years. Voters don’t like gridlock but surely that is what will happen until a Republican president gets in next, assuming that will happen.
Will be interesting to watch from this side of the pond.
Andy
Having Republicans in control of the Senate will end the gridlock
Having the Senate is HUGE. One ramification is that no more crazy left-wing court judges will make it through the approval process – you know the ones that declare CO2 a pollutant. Expanding the House majority is good too, making it easier to override vetos if necessary. And perhaps best of all, we have a LOT of momentum going into 2016.
Good points. Things will really get going if a US republican president joins both rep ruled Senate and Congress, it would be good to see what a powerful government can do and if it works out well they can take or the credit or vice versa.
Note that I am not pro Republican or Democrat, this is purely thinking from a point of view of removing gridlock and letting the political bird fly, for good or bad! Would be refreshing!
PS I Actually like Obama, but then I think in Europe we tend to be more central / left wing and have different priorities for what we want out of a US President. We can afford that not having to live with them ! 🙂
Andy
And what do you want out of a US President, Andy?
Gridlock is good when it puts the brakes on the advancement of socialism or other bad things. That’s how it’s supposed to work.
Andy:
Over there the US economy is being presented as very good. That is because the European countries are comparing it to their own recoveries and for almost all of them it is not that good. But by US standards our economy is weak and really not that good. All one has to do is look at the history of the Unemployment numbers to see that. Everything has been skewed by the QE injections but real unemployment, while being a lagging indicator is a true and reliable as long as you get real numbers.
I admire your optimism, Tony. However, Obama still has his “pen” and he can still use the veto power. I am Still concerned that Obama could issue an executive order to the EPA for more regulations in the fossil fuel industry.
Don’t get me wrong, I am excited about the change, but still fear the dictator…I mean Commander in chief.
Please share any insight that I might be missing.
No, just move it up the hill. Obama’s ego will never allow him to work with them.
Now the gridlock will be at the WH on many issues I suspect. For example the budget. No Way the Republicans will want to be portrayed as shutting down the government again and the POTUS is going to want to go on with another continuing resolution and will probably get it. Obama has nothing to lose while the Republicans will have to pick their fights very carefully or they will lose big time.
If Obama starts making law, such he threatens even now to do on immigration, then we could see a real war. And I don’t think your going to see any future Ruth Bader Ginsburg types getting past the senate either.
Bottom line the way I see it is that the Republicans will not get nearly as much done on the most important issues as we would like to see. Wanna see a real change? Then get a Republican in the WH while holding majorities in both houses of Congress in 2016 and that Republican can’t be Jeb Bush or Huckabee.
Agreed. McConnell has already said as much.
Bet The EPA is beginning to sweat.
hope so…
EPA is in the executive branch. Almost a cabinet post. The fake scientists won’t lose their funding until 2016.
If they do sweat it will cause global cooling.
Evaporation causes cooling, right??
US now seriously needs to start defunding useless climate change research, EPA ect. like Australia is doing. I would normally vote Democrat if I was a US citizen LOL, but the AGW issue overrides all.
As usual when NH ice is about to cross the line graphs are “dissappeared” I cant find DMI anymore. However this shows its within 1SD (link below) now. Cryosphere today is showing -241,000 sq miles which is very little.

It’s going to be hilarous to see how PSC explains this hopeless PIOMAS graph when everyone else has Arctic ice at normal levels:

What? The climate scientists were too goodie-goodie to tabulate the ballots? Missed opportunities galore! Think how they could make corrections to the vote, just like they do to temperatures! Why, even the Republicans who are NOT up for re-election would have lost and been replaced by Democrats. Might have been 157% of the voters voting Democrat on the Fourth.
Just like the climate models, the climate scientists could have used voter models and turned every Republican out of office.
Missed again…
