too good. Lol here in Bali! heheh

    • Phil Jones says:

      I’m laughing Hysterically….

Alarmists act like the Maldives and other Island Nations are doomed thanks to CO2….. Same as these fools from 200 years ago… Same people who jailed Galileo because he DARED to contradict the 97% consensus at the time..

A quote I liked from the book Air Con, when talking about Larsen B collapse causing about 0.1 mm sea level rise…”not enough to cause anyone to scamper up a beach let alone shinny up a palm tree to escape the wave. The worlds oldest man, using a Zimmer frame, could outrun a sea level rise of that strength.”

Interesting. I did a google search for that half gone atol and the only hit I got was Steven Goddards twin posting Real Science in some language I can’t even guess as to what it is. http://ilmastokauhu.blogspot.com/2013/05/kiusallisia-tuulahduksia-menneisyydesta.html

Are those “experts” lounging in the chairs with marguerites?

  5. Bob Koss says:

Heh. I don’t think they have much to worry about. They’ve got so little water in the Maldives they are flying it in.

  6. Eric Simpson says:

From wikipedia on the Maldives: Maldives consists of 1,192 coral islands grouped in a double chain of 26 atolls, along the north-south direction, spread over roughly 90,000 square kilometres (35,000 sq mi), making this one of the world’s most dispersed countries. Maldives is the lowest country in the world, with maximum and average natural ground levels of only 2.4 metres (7 ft 10 in) and 1.5 metres (4 ft 11 in) above sea level, respectively. More than 80 per cent of the country’s land is composed of coral islands which rise less than one metre above sea level.

    Rewind to 1989:

“Entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000. Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of eco-refugees, threatening political chaos.” -Noel Brown, ex UNEP Director, 1989

Look at the beach picture of the Maldives for this post, and you can see that just a hair’s worth of sea level rise would cause the whole thing.. to vanish. But what we have since 1989 is.. nothing, and this clearly belies the fear mongering bs of the shameless Chicken Littles. We got nothing. Nada. Zero. No sea level rise at all. Despite “data” showing some kind of very minimal rise, from our own eyes we see that at a time when we were supposed to be past the point where we’d already be swamped by an rapidly rising ocean, instead we see… zilch. No change at all. The Ocean Remains the Same.

And that is the doomsayers biggest fear mongering point, that the oceans will rise and swamp Manhattan and FL etc. It’s complete adulterated baloney.

The problems in the Maldives in the 1980’s was coral used for building, a ban was put in place in the early 1990s and has taken sonce then for the Coral to re-establish. Today 80% of the islands in the Pacific are stable or growing.

    “1. INTRODUCTION

Coral rock is the main aggregate for most construction purposes in Maldives. In 1986 the demand for coral aggregate for the construction industry in Malé Atoll, the industrial center of the country, was estimated at 0.5 million cubic feet/year. Although no recent estimates have been made, it is thought that demand is probably at its limit now and according to predictions, the current methods of mining would exhaust the coral buildings in N. Malé Atoll within a maximum of 30 years if coral mining is not controlled. There are many problems associated with the current mining practices. Biological surveys of mined sites indicate mat the coral diversity and abundance have been decreased dramatically. In addition to this, little recovery was seen at sites intensively mined over 16 years ago”

    What sea level rise?

“The island that ‘grew back’: Pacific isle that disappeared after devastating typhoon reappears 100 years after its destruction
In 1905 a devastating typhoon swept over the Nadikdik atoll in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, stripping it back to the bare coral
University of Auckland scientists have studied aerial photographs of the atoll to track its regeneration from sandy deposits to lush islands”

The scope and audacity of the climate hoax may never be fully appreciated.

  9. JN says:

Here’s a photo I took in the Maldives two years ago. The main island looks like Manhattan, except the buildings aren’t as tall.

Maybe Al Gore could go down there and do a documentary on the disappearance of the Maldives!
