    What is “extremely ordinary”

Excellent question! What scale are they using? “Ordinary,” “Very Ordinary,” and “Extremely Ordinary?” But, after listening to the alarmists the past few years, would not plain “Ordinary” be front page news? (Sorry, I forgot we are talking about the Arctic, a prime poster child for the “sky is falling” groups.)

  2. inMAGICn says:

And doesn’t the first line say “fairly ordinary?” Who reports science (or geography) like this, anyway?

  3. emsnews says:

So, the polar bears are no longer going to die due to lack of global warming explorers coming north to view the open seas?

  4. Thank you for the info on sea ice. I’ve been annoying the hell out of greenblobbyists for a few days by rubbing their faces in this and are they squealing!

  5. Llanero says:

This is exactly what they expected and it’s worse than they thought.

Extremely un-ordinary Lake Superior ice data.. http://iceweb1.cis.ec.gc.ca/Prod20/page3.xhtml
If this trend continues, Lake Superior will freeze over again making it 2 years in a row, which would be unprecedented.

Don’t forget about Antarctica melting. They say it is loosing about 83 gigatons of ice per year.
It has about 29 toalal gigatons of ice. So their very careful measurement show it is loosing
.0003% per year. No doubt about it!
They have very precise instruments. One authoritative internet site says the land ice has an average thickness of 6500 feet, another says its’ 7000 feet. (they don’t have that exact figure I guess)
Yet, .0003% of 6500 ft is .02 feet or about a quarter of an inch. So the Antarctic loosing 83 gigatons of ice means they are somehow measuring an average loss of a quarter of an inch over 4.5 million square miles??? How do they do that?

Top of the list video on youtube for a “global warming” word search…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcVwLrAavyA …… Tom Brokaw is quite entertaining at 2x normal speed.

Amazing ordinariness up Arctic way – certainly no death spiral in sight!

  10. It’s a propoganda campaign that would make Heir Groebels proud.
Tell a lie enough times and it becomes the truth, at least to the unquestioning masses.
It will eventually fall away but only after much damage has been done.

I read through the NSIDC info. I would guess they are accurate, but they do their best to bias the info in an alarmist fashion.
