Democratic congressman Elijah Cummings tore into MIT professor and Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber on Tuesday for his remarks on American voters and the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
The ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee made GOP chairman Darrell Issa’s opening statement sound tame by comparison.
“As far as I can tell, we are here today to beat up on Jonathan Gruber for stupid — I mean absolutely stupid — comments he made over the last few years,” he began, staring angrily at the hapless professor.
In other words, they are skapegoating Gruber for what all the Democrats did.
While appearing on Sunday’s edition of ABC’s “This Week,” Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., admitted Democrats in the Senate knew Obama lied when he said Americans could keep their insurance
“So were you misled?” Raddatz asked in a follow-up.
“No,” Gillibrand said. “We all knew.”
Oops! She will not go far admitting the truth. But why stop now? She lied for the past umpteen years in any event.
Steven: How about a Post on THIS:
Headline: “UN Climate Conference sets Record Carbon Footprint”… look at the list of all the resources they uses.. offset by trees which already exist?? Total crap… if they were serious this would all be a Video Conference… but that wouldn’t let the little Lords play in Peru… total crap..
http://www.usnews.com/news/business/articles/2014/12/09/lima-climate-talks-set-for-record-carbon-footprint
If they were serious, the meeting would be held in Barrow, Alaska – Ground Zero for their Climate Change Scam. But at -35 deg C, the little neo-Nazi’s couldn’t cope.
Yes, they are all Grubers now, including the UN, the UN’s IPCC, the Nobel Prize Committees, both political parties here and elsewhere, the National Academies of Science worldwide, and formerly prestigious science journals like, Nature, PNAS, PRS, Science, etc.
All Grubers now, trying to save themselves by blaming Jonathan Gruber for telling the truth.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10640850/The_FORCE.pdf
Gruber is being criticized for telling the TRUTH….
The Progressives are spinning again, throwing Gruber under the bus for letting us all in on their lies… pretending like this whole thing wasn’t a SCAM ..
Gruberg commuted two crimes the least of which was to empower the offending legislation; the greater of which was to expose the true nature of the men/women behind the curtain. Now rather then ask us to pay no attention to that man behind the curtain they are going to publicly excoriate the messenger. What a farce.
Committed, not commuted.
Incompetence or unscrupulous. Democrats can take their pick of how they’d like to be characterized.
And the EPA continues destroying the country by bringing the entire country under the control of DC.
I’d pay extra for every Gruber to meet their Gowdy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMb3gn3YunE
I was wondering when they were going to toss Gruber under the bus. Tony, better do a screen shot of that page before it is ‘disappeared’
Nothing like an admission that all the Demi-Rats were in on it when ‘it’ is a much hated piece of legislation and the hate extends across political lines.
From EBONY: Is Obamacare Hurting African Americans?
Now a comment from the far left:
This is an interesting bit on who Glen Ford is. http://www.democracynow.org/2012/9/7/effective_evil_or_progressives_best_hope
He thinks Obama is too far to the right!
I wil be darned if I can tell if he is a very light ‘Black’ or lily white. http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/truthdigger_of_the_week_glen_ford_20120908#14181517925871&action=collapse_widget&id=3276731
Isn’t race like gender self-determined in the leftist world? For instance if I wanted to apply for a minority reserved professorship at Harvard I could recall my grandmother’s old Indian oyster stew recipe my ancestors made in Colorado from daily fish mongers deliveries from the Pacific Coast & the Gulf of Mexico. Race is a state of leftist mind.
You are correct Paul. I always check ‘Other’ when asked about race. (Grandad is Arab)
I do the same. My grandpas were not Arabs and I have no reason to believe that my grandmas were anything but devoted and loving wives but who’s to tell about the weakness of the flesh and the passion of youth?
Depending on how benign I judge the questioner, my answers about race and ethnicity are as follows:
“I’m not sure. Who can know these things. Do you know how many invasions happened in Europe just in the last 2000 years?”
“Is my race important to you?”
“None of your business.”
“Other.”
“American.”
That makes 3 of us. They called in 2000 asking for clarification. I told them to put down “human” for race.
A nosy bunch. Next time they may dispatch phrenologists with tape measures and craniometers. …
Or just turn your camera on on your phone and take a selfie.
Progress! A smartphone applet could measure our skulls and scientifically assign a score of racial purity. I just would not base it on a selfie. The gadget should do it autonomously and given inadequate results it could arrange for the subject to surrender to the authorities.
True – I doubt anyone can tell the race of my nephews based upon skin color. But my sister thinks they are the greatest kids in the world!
Amusing and accurate! LOL
Phil I will have to steal that and use “Human with a smattering of Neanderthal” as race
That one would fly right over their head. But go for it! I hate racial profiling.
What is interesting is how revealing this all is. Gruber exemplifies the true arrogance of the Intellectual Left and no doubt is completely bewildered at the reactions he is getting.
I hope the people who the Intellectual Left uses as pawns wakeup and take note.
Don’t listen to rah, Gail. Never give up hope. I dream that one day I’ll wake up tall, dark and handsome.
It won’t happen because those people don’t think, they feel. I’ve seen very intelligent people be solid team D (or team R) but never use their intelligence towards political topics. It’s all emotion, it’s all what they feel.
Obamacare grabs team D fans by appealing to their emotions. Team D knows obamacare will implode. Then the fans will look towards government for solutions. That solution will be more government.
I wish people would research how medical care became this mess. They just won’t. It requires examining a century worth of “reforms”. It requires understanding Otto Von Bismarck’s stated goal with health care. People are too lazy to put in the time. The politicians know this. They also know people won’t listen to those who took the time. People who are called “conspiracy theorists” and worse.
Then there are some who do listen but they become violently angry and hold on to the lie because they can’t bare the thought they were duped.
So the train is a runaway. It’s going to crash.
B,
Most people do not have the time. One of the reasons for getting rid of the middle class (besides the fact they challenge the Elite monetarily) is because the middle class had leisure time. Now many are working two jobs just to stay in place.
Also the idea was to break-up the family. Make wage earners into itinerant workers moving from town to town every few years with no close ties to family or friends. This means the friction caused by teen rebellion is never mended and the younger generation never see the older generation have wisdom. Break-up the nuclear family so Mom has to work two jobs and Government Controlled Daycare raises the children.
Scotland has even taken it a step further with a new law: Every Child in Scotland to Be Supervised by State-Appointed Busybody
If you look at the moves over a century or so, you can see we are being slowly herded into serfdom. This has always been the plan of the Fabian Socialists. (Communist Socialists want bloody revolution.)
It is really scary when you pull back the curtain and see all the SNAFUs are not SNAFUs but carefully thought out plans to slowly edge us into free-range slavery. The elite are doing a darn fine job of it too because they have the time, the money, the intellectual resources** and the power.
** The Rhodes scholarship and the London School of Economics were specifically set up to grab the needed intellectual resources. Cecil Rhodes’ was committed to establishing a World Government. As he said in his will, “To and for the establishment, promotion and development of a Secret Society, the true aim and object whereof shall be for the extension of British rule throughout the world.” He had Lord Rothschild as executor. Rothschild had Lord Alfred Milner setup the ‘Round Tables’ as think tanks to influence politicians. The Council on Foreign Relations, the Committee on Economic Development, Trilateral Commission and the Royal Institute of International Affairs are some of ‘Milner’s Kindergartens’
Interestingly enough at about the same time the Rothschilds also helped the Fabians set up the London School of Economics to train future politicians, bankers and corporate leaders.
In her autobiography Our Partnership Beatrice Webb described how she and her husband were provided funds by the Rothschilds, Sir Julius Wernher and Sir Ernest Cassel to establish LSE. In 1920 Cassel saved LSE from financial dificulty with 472,000. Sir Evely Robert de Rothschild was Governor of LSE and Sir Ernest Cassel established the chair of ‘Economic Geography’ The Rockefeller foundation contributed $1,000,000 to LSE in 1923 and $4,105,592 between 1929 and 1952.
Paraphrased from: https://fabiansociety.wordpress.com/
Revolution From Above By Kerry Bolton
Sir Ernest Joseph Cassel was a German-born British merchant banker and capitalist.WIKI
Sir Julius Charles Wernher, another German who also ended up in the UK, was a banker and then went into diamonds and mining in Africa like Rhodes. Also like Rhodes he became one of the wealthiest men in the UK.
“I hope the people who the Intellectual Left uses as pawns wakeup and take note.”
Ain’t gonna happen Gail. It is who and what they are.
Brainwashed slaves.
More problems with the Obama exchange in Colorado.

But who would no seeing how were all stoned.
Of course the far left wants single payer, aka socialized medicine, This was their way of attempting that as they knew Obamacare would be a disaster. I still believe that the Democrat candidate in 2016 will go there. Why do I believe that? Because the odds are most of Obamacare will still be in place in 2016, meaning even more national dissatisfaction with it and the magic bullet offered will be single payer.
No, I do not believe that Obamacare will be done away with between now and election 2016, weak Republican leadership from Boehner and his little crew is why. They have not learned the lesson of Eric Cantor, or the lesson of the election 2014. Until proven wrong about that, and I will gladly accept being proven wrong. Let us say that I’m from Missouri, so show me.
Does no one remember the rumblings that Obamacare was destined to fail from the get-go, with the intention that it would pave the way for a true socialist healthcare takeover?
I wish I could remember where I saw that analysis back in 2009…
Absolutely. The inevitable failure of ObamaCare was a major topic discussed by Democrats. It played a key role especially in the discussion of the Public Option.
http://my.firedoglake.com/scarecrow/2009/06/05/progressive-caucus-lays-out-principles-for-public-health-plan/
Progressives wanted a “robust” Public Option that must:
· Enact concurrently with other significant expansions of coverage and must not be conditioned on private industry actions.
· Consist of one entity, operated by the federal government, which sets policies and bears the risk for paying medical claims to keep administrative costs low and provide a higher standard of care.
· Be available to all individuals and employers across the nation without limitation
· Allow patients to have access to their choice of doctors and other providers that meet defined participation standards, similar to the traditional Medicare model, promote the medical home model, and eliminate lifetime caps on benefits.
· Have the ability to structure the provider rates to promote quality care, primary care, prevention, chronic care management, and good public health.
· Utilize the existing infrastructure of successful public programs like Medicare in order to maintain transparency and consumer protections for administering processes including payment systems, claims and appeals.
· Establish or negotiate rates with pharmaceutical companies, durable medical equipment providers, and other providers to achieve the lowest prices for consumers.
· Receive a level of subsidy and support that is no less than that received by private plans.
· Ensure premiums must be priced at the lowest levels possible, not tied to the rates of private insurance plans.
Republicans and many moderate Democrats worried about giving the Public Option an in-kind subsidy by tying its doctor re-imbursement rates to Medicare, and argued for a “level playing field” where the public option would have to negotiate their own rates like any other insurance company.
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/chatterbox/2009/03/lemon_capitalism.html
“A public plan would most likely employ the payments rates used in Medicare, which are far lower than the rates paid by private payers. In fact, the average family of four with private insurance spends an additional $1,778 on health care each year because of Medicare and Medicaid underpayments to providers. On an aggregate level, commercial payers incur approximately $89 billion more in costs than they would if public and private payers all paid equivalent rates.
Williams is referring here to a phenomenon known as cost-shifting. Government health care programs today represent about 45 percent of the overall health care market in the United States. (Medicare alone represents about 20 percent.) That gives the government greater leverage than private health insurers in negotiating what they will pay hospitals and doctors. The correct term for describing what results is volume discount, not underpayment. Hospitals and doctors respond to the government’s bargaining power mostly by economizing but partly by shifting some of these costs onto private insurers.”
Progressives worried that without that large subsidy, a “weak” public option would have much higher premiums than private insurance, and end up as an embarrassment.
http://pnhp.org/blog/2009/07/28/does-the-congressional-progressive-caucus-care-about-its-public-option-principles/
“For two reasons this criterion will almost certainly make it harder for the “public option” to undersell the insurance industry (or even keep its premiums from being above those of the industry).
First, people in poor health are more likely to value freedom to choose their own doctor and hospital. If the “public option” is the only insurer in a multiple-insurer setting that is not limiting choice of provider, the “public option” is likely to suffer “adverse selection,” which means it winds up enrolling a disproportionate number of sick people. “Public option” premiums would go up and premiums of the insurance industry would go down.
Secondly, if the “public option” is not allowed to channel patients to a small network of providers, it will be more difficult for the “public option” to extract discounts from those providers, let alone match the big discounts large insurers typically get. Again, that would drive “public option” premiums up vis a vis those of the industry.”
Democrats knew that Single Payer could not pass, it was voted down. So when they say that they eventually want Single Payer, that necessarily means that ObamaCare must somehow change the political landscape to make Single Payer palatable. Success wouldn’t do that, but failure might.
Rush Limbaugh for one.
In 2012 Paul Craig Roberts noted:
http://motherboard.vice.com/read/an-analysis-of-barack-obamas-first-line-of-javascript
More proof that Obama is the smartest guy ever to occupy the White House. He better make room on his fireplace mantel for a Turing award.
Oh that’s too funny and sickly ironic. His first line of JavaScript is “moveFoward(100);” so nothing like giving him a good Communist slogan as a command to use. (Instead of giving him a Turing award how about we make him take a Turing test? Put me in for a fin he fails it.)
Gowdy P’owns Gruber
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bMb3gn3YunE
Can we have Gowdy as President? Please.
I recommend we convince all Democrats, Climate Scientists and Socialists that the Earth, as we know it, will be destroyed in a gigantic cataclysm next year (shouldn’t be difficult as they already think so). Show them the movie 2012. They believe it.
As the most important members of this planets population, they should all board the B-ark (built by us engineers) and head off to the newly discovered beautiful planet orbiting Alpha Centauri and enjoy living in harmony with a pristine environment.
All the engineers and Republican voters will volunteer to stay behind and sacrifice ourselves to the cataclysm. We will pay for the past sins of humanity.
Democrats would say its a win-win………………as would Republicans.

Folks, in the vernacular, you don’t got to do nuttin. It is happening all by itself.
The duck and covers are hilarious. Gruber is groveling. And so forth. Just let it keep rolling in the media eye.
True Fiction and Phony Facts
Carbon dioxide (CO2) – the gas that plants use as fuel to grow and make food – is a classified by EPA as a dangerous pollutant.
Ethylene (C2H4) – the gas used to make green tomatoes turn red before maturity – fools the consumer and is classified by the FDA as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe):
http://www.catalyticgenerators.com/whatisethylene.html
The trouble with most of the fine folks here is that you failed to support Gruber. Instead of being lionized he is being dragged through congress, self-flagellating and contrite.
Imagine what would happen if the Grubers and Whistleblowers who take the lid off what our government does behind closed doors were treated as the heros they are.
Gator……where are you on this one?
You do have a point but I would not call Gruber a Whistleblower, just arrogant.
Whistleblowers believe that by speaking out they are doing the right thing. Gruber thought that by speaking out he’d be hailed a hero or something. He truly does think that 90+% of Americans are stupid, unsophisticated hicks who are too dumb to wipe their own asses, let alone be responsible for something like health care. He’s an intellectual, nanny-state elitist on steroids…
Gruber is not a whistleblower. He’s part of the problem. He’s one of these parasitic intellectuals that serves the political class that think they are better than everyone else and should be advising the ruling class on how things should be. Now he’s getting his wrist slapped by his masters for saying what he thinks such that the public eventually got to hear it.
Support Gruber in what?
True, he is not a whistle blower, but his comments truthfully reflected the arrogance of the progressives, and truthfully indicated the deception being employed by Obama and supporters. So in that sense it is not surprising that a democrat called his telling the truth about Obamacare stupid.
For a progressive telling the truth is stupid.
Camel is correct that Repubs raking Gruber over the coals is not a smart move but it was a necessary move. The idea is to keep the dumb serfs from catching on that the two political parties are the Ruling Class with their intellectual suck-ups and us serfs. The serfs of course have no one who actually represents their interests. Anyone who does gets turfed out by the Bankster owned MSM before they ever rise above state level.
More free Kabuki for the LIVs in the cheap seats.
