“halt steadily increasing climate extremism”

“Before he was confirmed as the director of the office of management and budget last week, Project 2025 architect Russell Vought proposed a 38% budget cut for NOAA to “to curb excessive mission creep in key agencies, halt steadily increasing climate extremism within the department, and eliminate the prioritization of woke agendas”.

So the Grauniad* has uncovered a new breed of witch-doctor hitherto unknown to we mere mortals who pay their wages:

2025’s “high-level Noaascientists” are not just your average run-of-the-mill bog-standard labcoat-wearing scientist shouting at the sky – these are ‘high-level’ prognosticators of the End of the World according to Mann(UN)kind & The Doomers.

Time for them to get a real job like the rest of us.

For whatever the reason 2024 was a warm year in the north central United States. the records where I live in South Central Minnesota showed it was not a hot year, (I don’t think we hit a hundred degrees), but just steady above average every month. Why? Tonga? El Nino? that trend has ended. January was average and would have been below average except we didn’t have the snow cover that many states SOUTH of us had. February is a totally different animal. we’ve already had about 11 days of cold below average weather. A two-day warm-ups coming and then we’re going to be way below average for another week. could be the third coldest February we’ve had in the last 25 years. I have to say I’m somewhat shocked…lol… after all I just read that China built about 50 more coal-fired power plants in the last year or two. shouldn’t it be 40 degrees? instead it’s currently one below zero without the wind. this morning a small town called Cook Minnesota, located north of Duluth, recorded 40 below without the wind.

Frankly, I hope DOGE compares functions of NOAA and NASA. A great deal of overlap has formed. I suspect between overlap and climate mania, 40% can be cut.

Even if you were a non-fanatic working at NOAA, you would be concerned about your job right now. Anyone would know that without the reporter telling us. And having experienced it, I can guarantee that the hiring is more concerned about loyalty to their agenda than it is about being a sharp scientist.
