NASA Sets News Conference on Astrobiology Discovery; Science Journal Has Embargoed Details Until 2 p.m. EST On Dec.2

WASHINGTON — NASA will hold a news conference at 2 p.m. EST on Thursday, Dec. 2, to discuss an astrobiology finding that will impact the search for evidence of extraterrestrial life. Astrobiology is the study of the origin, evolution, distribution and future of life in the universe.

Turns out there wasn’t much to it. They found some bacteria in Mono lake which can substitute Arsenic for Phosphorous.  It has nothing to do with extraterrestrial life.

  1. Paul H says:

I could not understand the hype in the first place.

If it lived on earth it could hardly be alien.

  2. Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

I agree, life has been found in much more extreme conditions, like the deep sea vents. Why don’t they send some probes to Titan and other moons instead of wasting money with 20 satellites trying to prove their global warming hoax

  3. Mike Davis says:

We already have evidence of extra terrestrial life on earth and “The Invasion of the Body Snatchers” was based on historical facts. Just look at all the entities that were once real people but now believe in AGW! 😉

  4. Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

Here’s a hint to NASA, either find an organism on earth which doesn’t even the same structure as the rest of life, or find an organism on ANOTHER planet!!!

  5. John Silver says:

250 kinds of bacteria can live in jet fuel.

    • That is an interesting point, because the remains of organic life found in raw petroleum could be evidence of bacteria feeding on the petroleum and not that the petroleum is organic in its genesis. What I am meaning is that petroleum may not be a “fossil fuel” but rather created through processes in the mantle of the earth.

  6. Without a big moon project like in the 60’s NASA has to keep drumming up reasons to justify the money they get.

    • Mike Davis says:

That is why Hansen is a hero for NASA. GISS was losing its funding to study the atmospheres on out neighboring planets and Big Jim came up with the need to study Earth’s climate by that organization even though it would be a wasteful effort and others were doing the job already. NASA needs to be down sized!

  7. Sundance says:

I thought we already knew that there was life in California that couldn’t possibly be from Earth.
