Met Office : Coldest December On Record A Possibility

11.48am: The Met Office is predicting this could be the coldest December on record, with a current average temperature of minus 0.7C – five degrees below the long-term average.

    I could be wrong but I think there was a -0.8ºC in December 1890 CET. But who knows how many records have been fiddled with since I downloaded them.

    There are only 6 instances where December CET was below zero.

    1874 -0.2
    1788 -0.3
    1796 -0.3
    1878 -0.3
    1676 -0.5
    1890 -0.8
