It will be interesting to watch the paths of Julia and Igor over the next few days. Both are headed towards areas of warm water at 30N, so we should see SST cooling at that latitude over the next week – after the hurricanes pass through.
Hopefully Igor will pass to the east of Bermuda as they are now predicting. The worst hurricane scenario is having it pass just to the west, because of the counterclockwise rotation.

Still waiting on an update from NHC, but the latest track on Igor has Bermuda getting hit dead on (in the center of the cone of the predicted path). And you’re right — the worst case scenario would be if he passed just to the west. Let’s hope he does wiggle a bit more onto a more easterly track.
The latest from NHC now has the plotted path just east of Bermuda. As for the reality … well, that remains to be seen. The sooner Igor curves, the better it’ll be for Bermuda.
They are also forecasting it to weaken.
