Drinking too much ethanol maybe, but better that than the BS we are being fed from the alarmist side. Maybe thats why the alarmist want ethanol made in a fuel! why not methanal as a fuel? You can’t drink methanal and it can be used as a fuel and you don’t need to use food to produce it. The same for isopropyl.
I’m pretty sure it was done intentionally. I remember the discussions about alternative fuels before the U.S. sanctioned corn squeezings. They knew then it would escalate the prices for almost every commodity traded. Your point about isopropyl is quite valid. It would burn cleaner. But even if we, for some unfathomable reason, had to burn ethanol, we could have used any other plant on the earth. Why corn? Sugar beets and cane would have better yields per plant, but slightly more difficult to harvest. I advocated grass clippings. The impact on other commodities would have been null. It would have created a new market and value, thus, creating wealth, albeit only slight. Compare that to the record prices of corn we’re forcing. Pure insanity.
And then the demand would drive up corn prices, and they didn’t realize it would do the same for all food, as there’s allot of food that could be made into ethanol and more money can be made making fuel instead of feeding people. I wonder how many of those Green Eco CO2 hating tree hugging vegetarians promoting bio fuels saw that coming and cut their own throats here with scam? You know the type, keep it organic BLA BLA BLA type, The Don’t eat meat type. It looks good on them now doesn’t it.
exactly Russ
We have always had a surplus of corn. Selling that surplus means more money.
Then of course, when it’s not a surplus anymore, prices go up.
Plus the farm subsidy and the oil and gas subsidy. It’s a bottomless pit for corn farmers.
It’s a can’t lose for them….
And the best part is the green tree hugger veggies have to admit they were wrong again, because they supported something they wanted to eat for fuel and now couldn’t, or in some cases couldn’t afford any more! So now we see the changing of the tide on it.
I can remember hearing “in one decade, we can prove global warming”…
Yep, 15 years ago.
We’re hotting up I tell ya!!!!
You know what’s fun? We’ll be able to show that graph for at least the next year straight! hahahahahah
And, this graph will show decreasing decadal trend in a month or two.
But is probably just as fun to show now anyway.

Yeh, hotter than evuh!
Why do I have this overwhelming urge to use “travesty” in a sentence?
because you are a sick puppy and had too much caffeine…………:-DD
yah, it’s all suyts all the time over here!
lol, yeh but, now I’ve move one to ethanol and I still can’t find the missing heat………….and its a travesty that I can’t! 😀

corn, because the corn lobby knew it would be a gold mine for them…
subsidize farmers and fuel at the same time
They figured they could get money coming from two different directions at the same time..
..and they did
And then the demand would drive up corn prices, and they didn’t realize it would do the same for all food, as there’s allot of food that could be made into ethanol and more money can be made making fuel instead of feeding people.
