Mind I should not laugh. Here in the EUSSR we have to pay fines to the EU if we don’t recycle enough and people can be fined for putting the wrong rubbish in the wrong bins or even putting the bin out too early.

That was painful to watch. Where did they think they were going to put all those cans? The typical back yard in southern Cal would barely hold all those things.
I stay in the city during the week, so keep an apartment here. I’m in a “green” building, which essentially means there is a preachy sign in the foyer, a low flow shower head, and no air conditioning. I wouldn’t be here except it’s the perfect location. So, I swapped out the shower head and got a portable A/C unit with a hose that exhausts the warm air into the dryer vent.
God only knows what tax monies were used to enrich the developer of this building. And all they had to do was omit the A/C system and put a recycling bin in the trash room . What a scam.
The “brainwashing” started with recycling. It was step 1 of trained stupidity.
