During the campaign, at a stop in Oregon, candidate Obama noted :
“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,”
I am not planning on asking the EU permission to drive my Suburban, or eat, or adjust my thermostat.
He also bragged about how successful his Iran/North Korea policy would be :
“I want everybody to be absolutely clear about this because George Bush and McCain have suggested that me being willing to sit down with our adversaries is a sign of weakness and sign of appeasement,”
Over the last two years, he has proven for sure that weakness and appeasement don’t work. But Neville Chamberlain could have told him that.
At another 2008 campaign stop, candidiate Obama said :
“Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons was unacceptable”
When the going gets tough, the POTUS goes to the golf course. He does have one accomplishment though – tripling the deficit.
I hope his golf game has improved.
