Dr. Muller Explains His “Most Important Problem” Statement

In a private communication, Dr. Muller clarified his comment :

“We are doing this because it is the most important project in the world today. Nothing else comes close”

His point is political and economic – Governments are spending vast resources on what may turn out to be a non-problem. So either way it needs to be resolved.

Is that his explanation or yours? I hope it’s his.

Interesting. Is that all he had to say?

I think I will sound very rude in saying this, and my mother would not approve…….

But someone with a mind this feeble should not be sitting in front of Congress giving advice.

The thing that bothers me the most about his testimony in congress is that none of the congressmen bothered to educate themselves on the issue prior to the hearing. If they had, they should have challenged his statements. I knew he hadn’t fully looked at the surface station data yet. How come none of those pinheads knew that. I knew he wasn’t anywhere close to be done with the temp data, but they let him characterize the temps?

IMO, the last thing a congressman would do is some independent thinking. They’re probably informally polling those who will fund their campaign and doing a little trivial math. What to say is written up by staffers. The federal government is completely corrupt on most issues IMO. Especially this one. I’ve sent blistering emails to all my congress critters every time a vote comes up. Please do the same and maybe common sense and fear of another Democrat bloodbath at the polls will finally put this garbage to rest. These bums aren’t going to think any further than the ballot box.

To some it doesn’t matter if it real. Richard Lindzen pointed out how wrong it is to be that way:

    That’s the whole problem..
..these people really do think it’s the most important project

Real pollution, disease, famine, etc is ignored

But then according to them, all of those other things are caused by global warming..
…even though they all existed long before global warming

  5. omnologos says:

Muller is right. Were it demonstrated a non-problem, “Climate Change” would paradoxically become THE most important problem in the world. Who will be able to justify all the money spent, all the campaigns, all the international conferences?

And so Muller, faced with the Climategate collapse of CAGW, has to find a way to demonstrate “climate science” can survive an analysis that is “independent, replicable, inclusive, transparent”.

  6. Andy Weiss says:

His project is the “most important in the world”? Sounds like this guy is really full of himself.
