The last time there was a shutdown in 1995, did anyone notice?

  2. Ted A says:

Not enough of the FED was shut down for long enough to do any good.

    No casualties by now.

Strange group, but this is a bit different type of government shut-down. Our government will still be in place, but there will be no funds allocated to facilitate their functions.

The Government shut down was followed by another week off for a blizzard in January 1996.

  6. Jim Cole says:

So when >93% of non-military gummint workers get furloughed as “non-essential”, doesn’t that pretty much answer the question?

The puff-boys quibbling over $61Bn or $33Bn or $15Bn in “cuts” for FY-2011 only addresses less that 0.5% of the $1,600Bn of DEFICIT SPENDING in the FY budget. This is all on top of another $1,200Bn in so-called “paid-for” spending.

    jeez-loo-wheeze!
