People have been asking for an apples to apples comparison of GISS vs. UAH March 2011 temperatures using the same baseline. As you can see, it doesn’t make much difference.
UAH shows all of Greenland below the 1981-2010 mean, and GISS shows most of it above the 1981-2010 mean – by as much as 4C.
Steve, what part of warmcold don’t you understand? /sarc off
When viewing the above it is very important to note that James Hansen is an activist who has been arrested several times over his law breaking. How can he be seen as an objective scientist? How much confidence can we have in his data adjustments and smoothing?
He can’t because he isn’t…., and none. Well I guess you can be confident that the adjustments and smoothing have been exagerated toward the alarmists meme.
I’m sure we’ll see a GISS cooling trend as soon as Hansen retires. 😉
I don’t know, maybe his young apprentices are more ….post-normal, than he is. Maybe they are rappers.
Jimbo – I get the feeling NYC will be under 20 feet of water before James Hansen retires. 😉
It appears his mind is already inundated with a tangled web before he retired.
GISS data is an atrocious lie!
Again steve you don’t understand. There is alag between GISS and UAH of [whatever it needs to be to fit the narrative for any particular month in order to justify GISS]. Besides, several independent bloggers have replicated GISS anomalies using GISS anomalies, so there is no question as to it’s accuracy and precision.
What part of “most of Greenland’s surface is at altitude and located on the ice sheet” isn’t clear?
I think he was being sarcastic.
Seriously, this juxtaposition needs to be shoved in the faces, not of GISS – that won’t work – but the government who employs them. The US taxpayer should demand an explanation. Everyone needs to be made aware of this.
