US Winter Temperatures Plummeting

Over the last decade, winter temperatures in the US have been falling at a rate of 41 degrees per century.

Our “top rated” scientists say that the heavy snow in recent winters is due to global warming.

By the NOAA data, the contiguous United States has not been getting warmer on an annual basis since 1996. Winter months are not getting warmer.

So how does Hansen get away with it? By comparing 1895-2000 average and saying how much warmer it is relative to that.

Twelve graphs (one month each) for 1996 – 2011 SHOULD show that the contiguous US is not warming, but the warmists get away with saying it is. Actually, inferring it is.

The location and time of warming events distorts a regionally variable situation. Statistical approaches as simple as the CAGW position turn a regional and time-shifting series of temperature and preciptitation events into a global one. If they wished to say that regional changes were occurring, in places at an alarming rate, I would never have considered being a “skeptic”. I would have looked for regional causes as a primary cause, with a secondary driver behind shifting energy around. But by saying that a globally uniform cause results in such localized phenomena, I find myself on the other side of their fence.

The American people need to know that Hansen and his tribe know, but kept quiet about, the fact that their own country hasn’t warmed as an annual beast for 15 years. Gads, what the public is being asked to do is to try to create a COLDSPOT in the contiguous United States so that STATISTICALLY the world is cooling, even when the hot places aren’t. It’s all a mess.

If God weren’t on the warmist’s side I doubt that they could sleep at night with all this tomfoolery. (Am I supposed to have a sarcastic emoticon here? It’s too depressing to use emoticons.)

From 1992 on the US only had colder winters.
    Europe from 1989/1990 on.
