Garnaut Says That Drought In Perth Is Caused By Humans

“I know it’s not politically correct to refer to such things, but the science has been predicting it and when it starts to happen you can’t help but noticing it.”

Anyone can predict that a drought will happen somewhere in Australia, because they happen on a regular basis and always have.

..except when they predict drought, then floods happen and they say: “that’s consistent with AGW”. Same for declining snow in the UK, etc etc.

The only thing predictable with any certainty is that alarmists change their story, or just blame everything on AGW.

Well I say put Garnaut on trial for this since he admits to it, but maybe he isn’t human so he may beat the rap!

  4. D Bonson says:

Ross Garnaut is a hypocrite and a true polluter.

“Professor Garnaut conducted the Rudd government’s 2008 climate-change review which urged action on the issue, including an emissions trading scheme.

But the economist also chairs Lihir Gold, a mining company which has merged with Newcrest Gold, and he is a director of OK Tedi Mining Limited.

Tiffany Nonggorr, a lawyer representing indigenous PNG landowners, says the practice by Lihir of dumping billions of tonnes of mine waste and metalliferous tailings, including cyanide and heavy metals, is a great concern.

The practice is banned in China, Canada and the US.”

    My story…

I would drive out to the Eastern and great Southern ‘Wheatbelts’ early in the spring, in the 1970’s and early 1980’s, crops were virtually non-existant, ground mostly bare, and farmers carting water for starving sheep.

I would take with me a car-load of farmers from the last area that still had reliable good seasons, the cow country of the South West, and we would buy thousands of skinny sheep, that had no future where they were.

I would also travel to Midland near Perth, home of the largest West Australian livestock saleyards and buy thousands from the Northern wheatbelt for sometimes as little as 10 cents each. Drought was almost constantly with us in some district during this period, and occasionally a very good wetter year would happen, and all the stock left would go back for another year or two, and crops would be record breakers.

I remember the Blackwood River flooding Bridgetown and Nannup, the Avon River almost flooding Northam, saved by large levee banks, and floods in Moora from the Moore River. City folk do need to refresh memories and get out more.

Droughts and floods have always happened, and will continue to happen, despite the ridiculous claptrap from economists and their political masters in Canberra. Maybe they ought to get out more.

I remember the drought of 1976 in America. I remember farmers donating bails of hay to be trucked to the areas worst hit by the drought.

There also was a far worse drought in America that lasted 500 years:

………researchers from Columbia University, New York, N.Y. and NASA to see evidence of a 500 year drought from 800 A.D. to 1300 A.D…….From the pollen record found in sediments in Piermont Marsh of the lower Hudson Valley, a Medieval Warm period was evident from 800 to 1300 A.D………..

This a a bit Biblical isn’t it? It has been predicted by “science”, it has been written! Even if the claim were “true”, how could he possibly know? It is at present just not knowable and may never be, so if you do not want to ridicule yourself, refrain from any general claims as to AGW.
