The physical records may not support global warming theory – yet.
But later they will, and those in positions of responsibility have a moral imperative to keep public awareness alive – even if it means fabricating or intentionally misinterpreting data.
Remember, any period of time where trends go in the direction you expect is evidence for AGW. Even if the evidence is a single hot afternoon in Los Angeles in the middle of a record cold summer.
We all know that during the last decade of this century, sea level will drown everyone who hasn’t already died from heat prostration.
or just build outdoor aircondictioners:

Sorry about that. I have not gotten the hang of embedding videos yet. But the first part of the link will work.
I just can’t bring myself to make fun of the girl.
okay, I’ll do it. The very best thing about her is that she probably wouldn’t be able to find her way back to my apartment. 🙂
Well said. If only they’d started lying sooner we’d all be enjoying a stable, weather-free climate by now.
Stevie Schneider, warmist icon, said that it was OK if not a duty to lie in furtherance of “climate” justice.
“…to capture the public’s imagination. That, of course, entails getting loads of media coverage. So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements, and make little mention of any doubts we might have. This ‘double ethical bind’ we frequently find ourselves in cannot be solved by any formula. Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest. I hope that means being both” – Stevie Schneider 89′
.
Wow.. so Schneider got in before Gore did. Actually, Gore probably got the idea that it is ok to lie from Schneider.. which reaffirms that Gore is incapable of original thought, and often claims ideas are his.
Speaking of sea level, here’s one for you guys to kick around.
The only sea level rise is Indonesia, right on top of the ring of fire, and underwater volcanoes make the sea level higher right on top of them…….
…and we all know about the new earthquakes, tidal waves, volcano eruptions in Indonesia….
Here’s the sea level trend map..notice the 20mm standing wave in Indonesia (dark red)
http://www.aviso.oceanobs.com/fileadmin/images/news/indic/msl/MSL_Map_J1_Global_IB_RWT_NoGIA_Adjust.png
Here’s the Underwater Ring of Fire, notice it’s centered on the dark red, right in the middle of all those volcanic islands..
http://standeyo.com/NEWS/09_Earth_Changes/090420.undersea.volcano.html
Here’s how you look for underwater volcanoes, by the height of sea level…..
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn12218
Thousand of new volcanoes revealed beneath the waves
“”Satellites can detect volcanoes that are more than 1500 m high because the mass of the submerged mountains causes gravity to pull the water in around them. This creates domes on the ocean’s surface that can be several metres high and can be detected from space.””
Now go back to the sea level trend map and explain sea level rise……………..
Cause I can’t get a straight answer out of any of those guys, not even how they know to adjust for it…………….
Steve, my last post is in moderation hell because it has more than one link in it….
….it’s for you
when you have time, read it and post it for me
thanks
I constantly miss posts like yours since Steve evidently has an ex-girlfriend or two trying to post his dirty laundry here, via multiple-links, which cannot be allowed. He also seems fond of the greatest time waste of all: sleeping. Break your posts into single link paragraphs, as a kludge, so that those of us who don’t have time to read every entry here, every hour, over and over again, to delightfully discover a serious post or two might and thus benefit from new ideas.
This one of my all time favorites…
“We need to get some broad based support,
to capture the public’s imagination…
So we have to offer up scary scenarios,
make simplified, dramatic statements
and make little mention of any doubts…
Each of us has to decide what the right balance
is between being effective and being honest.”
– Prof. Stephen Schneider,
Stanford Professor of Climatology,
lead author of many IPCC reports
And who can forget this classic…
“We’ve got to ride this global warming issue.
Even if the theory of global warming is wrong,
we will be doing the right thing in terms of
economic and environmental policy.”
– Timothy Wirth,
President of the UN Foundation
“Nobody is interested in solutions if they don’t think there’s a problem. Given that starting point, I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous (global warming) is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are…” -Al Gore-
“In the long run, the replacement of the precise and disciplined language of science by the misleading language of litigation and advocacy may be one of the more important sources of damage to society incurred in the current debate over global warming.” -Dr. Richard S. Lindzen
“No matter if the science is all phony, there are collateral environmental benefits…. Climate change [provides] the greatest chance to bring about justice and equality in the world.” – Christine Stewart, former Minister of the Environment of Canada –
Lying about this cause was self-defeating, because eventually the lies were exposed.
Also, by doing so in such a crude, obvious manner, they insulted the intelligence of everyone with half a brain.
I grew up being taught that acid rain was all our fault and if we didn’t change our ways, it would destroy most of our forests. The science was supposedly “settled”. Sound like some other theory we all know about?
Extinctions – die-offs; so much of this is overblown exaggeration. Here’s one debunked from some years ago. I remember reading about how much bad science was thrown at this. Here’s a summary:
http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1993-03-03/news/alive-and-wellthanks-to-bad-science-rumors-of-the-saguaro-s-demise-have-been-greatly-exaggerated/
GregO – Thanks for the link! Like you, I had heard the sad tale of the Saguaro. But I never read that follow up. I am glad to see that the real cause was just man’s stupidity and zealotry in trying to save the plant, and that it does very well on its own. But the sad fact is – the idiots who killed and mangled some of the cacti in pursuit of the “extinction” cause will probably be poster boys for the Sierra Club, while Joe MacAuliffe will be relegatetd to a foot note in history.
