The old CU sea level web site included this error map, which showed that their error was nearly as great as their trend. That map no longer seems to be available.
Note 10 mm/year error north of Indonesia, in a region where they claim 10 mm/year rise.
In other words, their measured trends are about as useful as a stopped clock.
Almost 100% of their claimed sea level rise, is dead center on that red dot….the Indo-Pacific
The rest of it follows the Pacific Ring of Fire up around Japan…..
We know that area has been extremely active, volcanoes, volcanic tsunamis, earthquakes, etc
This says under sea volcanoes can make the sea level on top of them several meters high….

Thousands of new volcanoes revealed beneath the waves
“”Satellites can detect volcanoes that are more than 1500 m high because the mass of the submerged mountains causes gravity to pull the water in around them. This creates domes on the ocean’s surface that can be several meters high and can be detected from space.””
Their map is the error map, ie the measured change is dead zero. That’s why they don’t need a separate error map any longer.
Steven:
A stopped clock is right twice a day. I would not give the same degree of accuracy to the climatologists!
To be more exact the stopped clock is accurate 2 out of 86, 400 seconds every day. Climatologists have not provided that degree of accuracy.
