My family was run out of Europe by the Catholic church, who seized our property and even children under the age of two. Another branch of my family were from Menorca and used as slaves in Florida by a Dutch doctor. My ancestors from the British Isles were taken as slaves by the Muslims, those that were not slaughtered. And speaking of slaughter, my Huguenot ancestors were lined up by the hundreds and slaughtereed by the Spanish. There is a river in Florida called the Matanzas River, matanzas being the Spanish word for slaughter, so named because it ran red with the blood of my ancestors.
