Why Are Idiots So Self Assured?

Harry Reid is an idiot

Of course, if those skeptics had taken a stroll along the Potomac River on a 70-degree day this February, they would have seen cherry trees blossoming earlier than at any time since they were planted 100 years ago. Washington experienced its warmest spring since record keeping began in 1895.

The first blooms appeared on March 15. There was only one day in February which reached 70 degrees, and that was the first day of the month. Apparently Harry believes that he saw cherry blossoms on February 1.

In 1946, the blooms appeared a day or two earlier.

Why fools are endowed by Nature with voices so much louder than sensible people possess is a mystery. It is a fact emphasized throughout history. – Hertzler

The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt. – Bertrand Russell

Egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of stupidity. – Frank Leahy

Interesting. I’ve made the same observation as Hertzler, based on a sample of next-door neighbors. I think there’s a grant-worthy project here – to verify this observation and to figure out what it means. (I’d put my bet on different densities of inhibitory neurons.)

Come to think of it, here’s another quote. From memory: “one of the low on whom assurance sits, like a silk hat on a Bradford millionare” – T. S. Eliot

In Chicago we have a culture of corruption which has led to political inbreds, who are not very bright, running the show. Politics is nothing more than the managing the redistribution of taxpayer money and favors to those resources that will get you re-elected, which is why state government spends $4.6 million/job and then blames someone else for the state going broke. As long as you have a majority of idiots it is easy to become the idiot king in politics.

Idiots are self-assured because they don’t understand what a question is.

I got two words for the climate change idiots: the leftist (Berkeley grad Michael Mann) fabricated hockey stick has been debunked as trumped up baloney, and the corrected record shows that there is nothing unusual about current temperatures, which means that there is nothing wrong with the climate (huge point: THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CLIMATE, yell that from the mountain top), and also, the ipcc founded their whole deceptive (lying) AGW pitch on a causal CO2 – temperature correlation, and now, even after that also has been shown to be a specious falsehood, the theory just cruises along as if all is fine in doom and gloom land. Lets see, the bs AGW theory had 2 foundations: one was the hockey stick indicating we are in a period of accelerating temperature increases, and the other was the ipcc posited causal CO2 – temp correlation. Both of those foundation are gone. Repeat: the very foundations of the theory have rotted out. When is this AGW house of cards going to fall?

    • Josualdo says:

One of the problems is treating it as science, when it’s no longer anything but political narrative. That’s why it survives: it doesn’t have to be true at all, just appealing to the uneducated masses and the serve the politicos.

      • rw says:

It still has to be plausible. And that may be the ultimate reason that this thing will eventually fade away. That’s the nice thing about stupidity; it doesn’t know what ideas not to embrace.

    • Eric Simpson says:

That’s a very important point you make, Joshualdo. I often think about that when I’m huffing and puffing to disprove the “science” presented by the doomsayers. I’m thinking: we are giving them a lot credibility just by refuting their fabrications and deceptions. But, alas, it seems we must do that. Yet your point is valid also that AGW theory survives not on any scientific merit, but just as a narrative presented and interwoven with every aspect of the liberal mainstream media. So, a big part of our job is to not only dispute the science, but to expose the media’s complicity in this outrage.
