NOAA and GISS reached a tipping point this month, having defiled US history by claiming that the heat and drought of 2012 is worse than the 1930s. This is an abomination of an important part of US history, and it is being performed with taxpayer funds.
I consider the scoundrels behind this propaganda to be the equivalent of book burners in 1930s Germany.
“A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within”
– Will Durant
They are the modern day book burners. When the skeptical minded began pointing out the fallacies in the warmist arguement one of the first things the warmists did was to work very hard to keep skeptical thought from being published in the various journels and magazines that have traditionally carried the scientific literature. citation of source : climategate one and two The warmists would fit right in nazi germany. ( No offence intended to present day Germany or it’s many fine hardworking citizens. )
They should be reorganized under a new branch of government, called the ‘Ministry of Truth’, so George’s nightmare can be complete
The global warming preachers at the Goddard Institute of Space Studies (GISS) have thoroughly defiled the NOAA name. James Hansen should have been fired long ago for scientific malfeasance.
Excuse me. I meant “NASA name.”
It doesn’t matter, both NOAA and NASA have “defiled” their names in recent years,
well seeing as 350.org is a fizzer:-)
guess we have 451.org to look forward to??
after all they can do a lot more with flames than exploding kids, spin wise:-)
I called this whole thing “Fahrenheit 451” at Climate Audit about two years ago, and McIntyre “disappeared” the comment within a very small number of minutes. No “Snip” so someone could see I posted something that got snipped. Just … paff! Gone.
Steve Mc. is a decent guy. But I gotta admit, that hurt, and the memory of it has stuck with me. Our opponents are ruthless thugs who have not the slightest compunction about disappearing an entire inconvenient data set and then telling us to our face, with a straight face, in front of a mass audience, that we hallucinated it.
Hitleresque? Goebbels-esque? Sure, but those insults are widely used and have many shades of meaning. To be more precise, I would say that this behavior, and the prospect of our being targeted as “mentally ill” for claiming we saw something that they brazenly disappeared, is bone-chilling. Because they now have so many brainwashed who will believe them, even if we show them copies of the old evidence. In other words, bazillions of supposedly adult persons out there will now believe that we fabricated our evidence before they will believe that our opponents disappeared it all. How can our bones not be chilled by such a prospect? And I’m sorry but I don’t believe that Romney will change this to any material degree.
Thank you, Steven Goddard, for your efforts to fight back. Sometimes I find that you are posting faster than I can read and fully assimilate. I don’t know how you do it, but I’m glad you do.

Thanks. These are very sick human beings,
We are all flawed, but we will make no progress pointing out the flaws in our opponents.
Official responses to the Climategate emails and documents that surfaced in Nov 2009 destroyed any illusion that deception in government science was only the work of a few rogue scientists.
Guilt-ridden scientists and world leaders were manipulated into abandoning constitutional limits on government after the sudden death of thousands of innocent citizens on 6 Aug 1945, as documented here:

It is time to move beyond debate and finger-pointing to consensus on common goals. That was the central point of my recent comment in the New York Times:

“John Paily of India is exactly right. Instead of instead arguing about differences of opinion, we should support these common interests of ordinary citizens:
1. We all want world peace.
2. An end to racism and nationalistic warfare.
3. An end to the threat of mutual nuclear annihilation.
4. Cooperative efforts to protect Earth’s environment and bounty.
5. Governments controlled by the people being governed, including.
6. Transparency and veracity (truth) of information given to the public.”

Do most people know, when seeing or having something cited from an alarmist chart, that the data for the chart has been “adjusted”? At the very least, when the liberal media gives an AGW related story, they should have to give a disclaimer: “The study we are about to present was performed with adjusted temperatures. Any resemblance between these adjusted temperatures and the acutal temperatures is strictly coincidental.”
Exactly. The absence of such a disclaimer makes this criminal behavior.
It is possible to ‘fabricate’ the Past, but only until it happens again in the Future. Nature is not affected by Ignorance, Humans are.
Steve, can you publish the source of your data when you publish graphs like this. I want to link your stuff sometimes but without sources of data, it will get dismissed as useless info from an “insignificant blogger”. I know you do this often, but this graph, which is dramatic has no linkage. You do not have to publish this question.. thank you. Keep it up!
It is always the same huge data file http://cdiac.ornl.gov/ftp/ushcn_daily/us.txt.gz
Thanks. I knew you were working off of something like this for all your other examples, I just didn’t know where to look for it exactly.
