NRDC and their Rocky Mountain partners in global warming misinformation claim that CO2 is heating up Maine out of control.
I plotted out Maine summer temperatures vs. atmospheric CO2 from 1895-2010. There is zero correlation between the two. The r^2 value is 0.00008.
The warmest years all occurred with CO2 below 320 ppm. More CO2 does seem to be making the climate more stable in Maine, with less variability. Can we call it it “climate stabilization” instead of “climate disruption?”
I am confused by all this. The last time I looked at a map the Rockey Mountains are not in Maine. Did I miss a geologic shift or did Maine get bigger? Maybe sea level has risen so high the Atlantic coast is the foothills of the Rockies.
You have never had Rocky Mountain lobster?
They are not Rocky Mountain lobsters, they are Rocky Mountain Oysters.
No Rocky Mountain Lobster but plenty of Rocky Mountain Oysters.. yum yum 🙂
Baxter Black has a great poem enacted as a local with a New York date in a western cafe ordering R M Oysters. Has to be one of the funniest things to see and hear.
Oh no, no, no ,no, no … that will never do … can’t pry dollars out of politicians if all that extra CO2 promotes climate stabilization !!! How can we have a crisis atmosphere pervading the discussion if everything’s stable ?!! How can we have multinational studies and conferences if everything’s stable ? What ? No more trips to Bali ?
Mmmmm… but if you take CO2 as a PROXY for the Urban Heat Island effect… which is about as valid as a Bristle Cone proxy… then your CO2 graphic is a way to Hide The Decline in temperatures…
OT
Sorry for the inquiry, but are you in Malaga? I stopped there several times when I was in the US Navy. I was on a rocky beach in Malaga when the news broke of Carter’s failed attempt to rescue the folks in Iran. I like Spain. Fruita da Mare Paella for everyone.
For the record I am based in Malaga… not so much for my sins… but so I can carry on enjoying life… which I do… Spain is a lovely country… and Malaga Capital is a gem that shines bright… it is well worth the visit… especially as the new air terminal is now open for business… and with a bit of luck may be awarded the title of 2016 European Capital of Culture.
Good to hear your memories of Malaga… the port is still going strong… there is strong growth in the cruise market… and the beaches are mostly sandy now around the Bahia de Malaga.

Maybe plot CO2 on Saturn, I bet CO2 is warming Saturn but they havn’t check it yet could be a nobel prize winner?
SP:
It just goes to show that we are affecting the rest of the solar system’s weather / climate. Variable global dimming on Saturn because of our wasteful ways!!!!
Temperature shifts and seasons!! What next all the coastal cities will be submerged also along with mass biological extension on most of the other planets?
