Hansen wrote the exact opposite in 1999.
Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought. The drought of 1999 covered a smaller area than the 1988 drought, when the Mississippi almost dried up. And 1988 was a temporary inconvenience as compared with repeated droughts during the 1930s “Dust Bowl” that caused an exodus from the prairies, as chronicled in Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath…..
in the U.S. there has been little temperature change in the past 50 years, the time of rapidly increasing greenhouse gases — in fact, there was a slight cooling throughout much of the country
The EPA wrote this in 2008 :
Heat waves occurred with high frequency in the 1930s, and these remain the most severe heat waves in the U.S. historical record (see Figure 1). Many years of intense drought (the “Dust Bowl”) contributed to these heat waves by depleting soil moisture and reducing the moderating effects of evaporation.
So why is Hansen spewing gibberish to National Geographic?
“Is Hansen Lying, Senile, Or Just Incompetent?” – yes. all three.
Reblogged this on This Got My Attention and commented:
Hansen makes a lot of money peddling this nonsense. He has a very strong financial incentive to make (up) news.
The hot air is leaking out of the AGW/Climate Change™ balloon faster and faster, so mendacious people such as Hansen is having to spew ever hotter propaganda for the fraud to stay airborne.

So why is Hansen spewing gibberish to National Geographic?
Because CO2 in the air makes people mental.
😀
By the way Hansen’s appearance lately makes him look like he’s homeless, and wild-eyed, like he’s been sniffing glue …
I think the media plan to keep him off of video for a while, I would.
Man-made global warming is a time traveller. 🙂
Some HOLOCENE droughts in the USA
An incompetent liar who cannot remember what he wrote.
