Slowest Arctic Melt On Record

The past two weeks normally produce the fastest Arctic ice loss of the year, about 750,000 km². This year, less than half that much ice melted.

It also was the coldest and shortest summer on record at the North Pole.

President Obama thinks the poles are melting down, like his credibility.

If Oh-Blame-Ya seriously thinks he has any credibility left…. Well, I’d like some of what he’s smokin’ !!!

The entire pack of Arctic meltdown/”tipping point” alarmists seem to also have a serious “credibility crisis”. ‘Cause that’s what has been really melting away to complete nothingness… Their credibility.

Isn’t the liberal carbon tax just a stealth version of the conservative flat tax? Is not energy buried far in the ground common property on a round Earth? What if that energy was at the center of the planet? Who would then own it, morally? So many questions!

    • DGP says:

All forms of energy are already heavily taxed. A “carbon” tax is nothing more than “more” tax. California and Spain have already passed addition taxes and fees on solar power and electric vehicles to recover the lost revenue.

Nik! Man you WERE on a roll. What happened?

    • Justa Joe says:

Actually a carbon tax is a stealth version of a liberal VAT tax.

    • Eric Simpson says:

The flat tax is stupid, except if you mean it to tax a certain anatomy. As Sarah Palin said: “I may be flat broke, but I’m not flat chested.” Taxing someone who’s flat broke doesn’t make cents, and I can’t see much outward benefit in taxing the flat chested either. As Perry said about global warming: “it’s flat out hogwash.” Tax the fear mongers for all their flat out lies. That’s more like it.

    • There Is No Substitute for Victory says:

Then isn’t the $ in your wallet common property on a round planet especially since the President doesn’t have the time to debate the Flat Earth Society? What if the $ in your wallet was in your bank vault, who then would morally own your $? So many questions. So few answers. Sigh.

In reality a carbon tax is designed to capture the ill gotten $ floating around Gotham and then spread or redistribute those smutty carbon stained $ evenly among every person in the Third World. The idea is to reward the Third World for forgoing industrial development while punishing those who destroy the Earth by living and working in places like the Big Apple. Obama calls it “Social Justice” or sometimes it flies under the elusive name, “Fairness.”

The up side is that NYC real estate values, population, and the cost of taxi licenses will plummet along with CO2.

I think we need a new poll. Remember when the U.S. Northeast was going to get less snow because it was too warm to snow. Then, when that prophecy failed, the alarmist found some grant whores to come up with the theory that the Northeast was colder and snowier because the arctic ice had melted. Poll question: what explanation will be offered by the alarmist if the Northeast has another cold and snowy winter.

It’s worse than we thought! 🙁

  5. Bob Maginnis says:

You could say its the slowest ice melt, but that is because there is much less ice to melt:

It is only the “Slowest Arctic Melt On Record” in terms of ice area melted, July 26 to August 9, because there is much less ice at that time than there was decades ago:

If anyone is standing or skating on thin Ice it is Bobm. Bob’s posts are like saying that hot temperatures don’t melt ice. But when Bob’s climate model does get around to melting what few shards of old, young, rotten, slushy, decayed, first year, thin ice that remains on the surface of the Arctic, Bob’s heat has to spend all Summer searching for the ice so that Global Warming can melt it. In other words Bob’s ice is more like Osama bin Laden hiding in a cave or compound than it resembles solid h2o. Bob’s only alternative is to send the ice scuba diving in search of the heat hiding out like Osama at the bottom of the Ocean.

I tell you what Bob, why don’t you deny heat permission to melt ice, and the problem will be solved!!! It makes just as much sense as what you said. You seem to think that every time that a glacier caves off a huge iceberg either in the Arctic or the Antarctic Oceans, that because there is so much ice in that iceberg that the whole mass of ice instantly vanishes in a cloud of steam the moment that it hits the water? The other side of Bob’s coin is that if you poured you frozen cocktail into the surf at Malibu that the ice would float around for decades because there is so little of it. Has anyone here seen Bob’s sign?
