I actually don’t remember the citizens of the US being consulted by Dear Leader. A lot us are considering “impeachment” however.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Obomba is familiar with Chicago style warfare. He figures having those five destroyers perform a sail-by shooting will show them a thing or two without interfering with his golf. Other than that, he intends to lead from behind. How he positions himself farther behind than his only ally, the French, he is still working out.
“sail-by shooting,” I think I will adopt that phrase.
Go for it.
Geopolitics the Chicago way.

It’s al dirty games and he knows it:

He should quit if he still can. His hole is only getting deeper!
Tonight there is talk Assad has moved human shields (e.g. political prisoners) to the military sites where Obama officials telegraphed would be targeted. Obama dithering and his administration leaking has eliminated any advantage of surprise.
I cannot imagine any worse way to F this entire mess up more.
1) Obama should have from the start publically pressured the Russians and put all Assad’s bad deeds on them. Obama should have played energy cards (Keystone XL pipeline, fracking) and threatened to renege on New START and restored plans to field ABM systems in Eastern Europe. A strong energy independence policy and aggressive posture with Putin would have put the U.S. at a bargaining position of strength rather than unilaterally giving up such cards out of weakness and get nothing in return. Obama can still play these cards, though a bit late. He also could have offered a carrot to Putin – if they worked together to oust Assad in favor of a moderate transition govt (before Islamic extremists gained their foothold in Syria), Obama could have promised to let Russia keep their warm water port in return.
2) Obama should not have drawn the red line in the first place. It makes Obama look weak if he doesn’t take action and Assad calls his bluff a 3rd time and a 4th time, etc. Obama painted himself into a corner due to his extemporaneous remarks off-teleprompter.
3) Obama should have called out the U.N. community a year ago for their weakness, and threatened to pull their funding. Instead, Obama was blaming a video for Benghazi and apologizing for our right to free speech, this after several years of blaming America first..
4) Obama should not have telegraphed the duration, extent, locations, or types of weapons used for the military action against Syria. He should not have announced what assets we won’t use (unless, of course, his statements are misinformation and he actually plans to use the B-2s and F-22s to decimate Syria’s combat aircraft and airbases and covert special forces to destroy the chemical weapons; also would be a good time to keep his promise to not let Iran get a nuclear weapon – Israel cannot achieve this alone, only we can with our unique assets).
5) Obama should have been working much stronger behind the scenes with our NATO allies starting 2 years ago, so as to avoid surprises like that experienced just now with the U.K. Parliament.
6) Obama should have been the one to make the speech Kerry gave today, and should have done it in an Oval Office speech to the American public early in the week, not on a Friday before a long holiday weekend.
7) Obama should have asked for Congressional approval before declaring war on Libya, and explained WHY it was in our national security interest. Failure to do so made him look like a hypocrite, especially when Bush43 actually got UN and Congressional approval and a broad international coalition before initiating his wars. Now when Obama tries to do the same with Syria, he looks like a President who does not respect the rule of law or precedent. His lack of executive experience and his distaste for building personal relationships with members of Congress on both sides of the aisle has contributed to this dysfunction. In fact, Obama should at least have been working closely behind the scenes with the intelligence committees since Jan 20, 2009. And Obama should have led and called a special session of Congress over a week ago.
8) Obama should not have treated Netanyahu with disdain and disrespect. Israel could be the recipient of blowback from Iran or Syria or Hezbollah (in Lebanon) or any number of terrorist groups. I doubt Obama has nurtured any positive working relationship with Israel, despite the attempts to publically present a unified front (you can just tell from the body language).
9) The unclassified Syria talking points released today look a lot like the Benghazi talking points in terms of the language used, and the trust with which they are received, along with multiple prior versions of inaccurate NSA and IRS scandal talking points. There is a trust deficit that we have good intelligence since the Bush assertion Saddam had WMD, and there have been multiple intelligence failures since then.
Have I missed anything?
10) Obama should have stayed in Kenya.
