Others described whooshing noises, train-like rumblings and the sounds of loud cracks as lightning struck and trees snapped.

Wooshing noises?

“I actually started to pray. I was very frightened,” Antonia Ritorto of Staten Island’s Tottenville neighborhood said. “It came so quickly. The sky got so dark. The rain was sideways — the water was coming in through the windows.”

Sideways rain? Now I have heard everything. The city must look like Dresden in 1945.

    Sideways rain? Out in flyover country, where people pay attention to their surroundings, we’ve found it always best to close windows when it’s stormy. But then, when you’re facing the dreaded climate disruption, I guess the rules get thrown out the window. Things musta been hopping over at GISS.

    Atmospheric Explosion!!… :-0…… 😐 ….Meltdown? Venus in Summer? …Surface of the Sun?
