It appears almost certain that GISS will declare 2010 to be the hottest year ever.

CO2 Having No Influence on Antarctic Sea Ice

Sea ice data from UIUC shows that there has been no change in date of the Antarctic minimum, the date of the maximum, or the length of the Antarctic winter/summer.

Central Arctic Freezing Up Rapidly

The blink comparator shows changes in the ice near the North Pole at 87.5N 168.0E over the last four days. As you can see, all of the open water has frozen over. This causes area measurements to increase.

Extreme Weather Postpones US Open Final

We can’t definitively link today’s heavy rain at Flushing Meadows with climate change, but we do expect more postponement of tennis tournament finals in the future – as atmospheric CO2 increases.

New Ice Forming Around The Petermann Iceberg

New ice is forming around the iceberg which broke off the Petermann Glacier last month. The entire region is also covered with fresh snow. Temperatures in the region are running below -5ºC.

Santa’s Workshop is looking cold and dark After a month of above normal temperatures, the weather has turned cold in the high Arctic again. Temperatures north of 80N have dropped to about -5ºC, which is near normal.
