All this talk of Manhattans is making me thirsty – it’s off to happy hour. Man am I glad all that ice is up in the arctic. Hope it stays there.
Weather here in the desert southwest is just great right now – it’s great to be alive during such a wonderful warm time. Global Warming – another term for nice weather!
In Florida, the Orlando Sanford Airport, which handles 2 million passengers a year, now plans to replace “testy” Transportation Security Administration screeners with private contractors
The current TSA employees will transfer to the new contractor and be hired because they have already been trained and they will probably get a raise out of it. They just have to change uniforms. I have seen sometimes they only have to change the patch on their old uniforms.
Oddly enough, though 2010 is at the bottom in JAXA, it is well ahead of 2007 and 2009 in CT’s area…to the tune of 555472 km^2 higher than 2009 and over 200000 km^2 above 2007 (and 2006). Sure, most of the discrepancy with 2009 will be made up in the next week, where it performs quite well, but it’s still interesting to see such a discrepancy.
or this one!

And just when do these multi-Manhattens become multi-year Manhattens?
funny
🙂
according to the warmistas it has been 700k or 1.5m years, take your pick, since the arctic was ice free. so my question is,
where is the 700k or 1.5m year old ice?

but a bit of good news:

Probably private contractors newly free from multi-year prison sentences for sexual assault.

Chukchi sea does not seem to be filling up with ice that fast. Reminds me of 2007 in that respect.
2010 seems to be roughly lowest on the JAXA graph so the number of Mh’s this year is not that good. Unless Manhatten is increasing in size.

Chukchi Sea is normal

I’ll have a closer look tonight when I get home, have to do work at the moment rather than this which is more interesting. 🙂

-Scott
CT”s Antarctica area doesn’t map well to NSIDC’s extent plot at the moment either Scott which is also interesting.
Andy
yes any, i always wonder how one shows a curve well above the “average” while the other shows a negative anomaly…
