Frozen Vancouver

Earlier in the year, the warm El Niño weather at the Vancouver Olympics was being widely touted as evidence of global warming.

This winter, La Niña is about to hit Vancouver hard, with temperatures 10°C below normal.

The forecast for this weekend is bitter cold.

12 inches of fresh snow and a forecasted minimum of -8 in Whistler by Saturday. Not a bad beginning of the skiing season … in November.

  3. So where are all those global warmers who acted mindlessly last year with their “proof” of “global warming”? No talk now I see. They are pathetic. And they’re they only ones who don’t know they are.

Whistler had no problem with snow last year. It was Cypress that had no snow. It is a smaller hill near Vancouver, and is a crap shoot every year as to weather it will get snow or not. Last year it had snow early, but the snow was gone by the time the games started. Both ski hills are opening this weekend.

Exactly right. During the Olympics I was skiing on an adjacent mountain to Cypress (Seymour). The now wasn’t great but I’ve seen many a year when the snow was worse or nonexistent.
