Why Worry? UN Says We Are Already Dead

Shaun Of The Dead

June 30, 1989

A senior environmental official at the United Nations, Noel Brown, says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the earth by rising sea levels if global warming is not reversed by the year 2000.

Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of “eco-refugees,”threatening political chaos, said Brown, director of the New York office of the U.N. Environment Program. He said governments have a 10-year window of opportunity to solve the greenhouse effect…

Hmm … which climate scientist that we know was spreading that sort of crap in 1989?

The list is long of the infamous persons that made similar claims! I do believe the Chicken Little Brigade needs to find a new ghost writer because all they are doing now is regurgitating what was predicted then. Madame Sophie at the corner can see other futures in her crystal. Maybe they should consult her. She could tell them about the massive earthquake that will send LA into the ocean. If I remember right everyone from San Diego to Point Arena North of San Fransisco needs to evacuate the area and move at least 3 hundred miles east or they will fall in the ocean when the San Andreas fault splits the pacific plate from the continental plate in 5 years. The current coastal range will become a string of islands but the destruction will be extensive up to 250 miles east of the current coast.

Does that sound plausible enough. I read the bumps on a pigeon’s head and verified my finding independently by contemplating the moss on the Oak at the north east corner of my property. I think that was the right oak to check or maybe it was the maple near the creek and the Blue Jay’s wing feathers. This prognostication stuff is tuff! 😉

It’s true, we’re dead. But we starved, we didn’t drown. Doesn’t this guy Brown read any of the literature?

  3. Leon Brozyna says:

This stuff is getting so old, it has mold growing on last year’s mold. Every year we’ve got only ten years to stop global warming or face disaster (although more recent chicken little alerts have shrunk the window to doom to five years).

Paul Erlich is my favorite Chicken-Little. He has a 100% record. He has always been WRONG.

I am not even going to open the link and GUESS that he is saying that if CO2 is not dealt with by 2000 that in the unspecified years after that those kind of calamities will happen. OK Hold on . I am going to check now. Don’t go away. promise?
Of course we did have huge crop failures from fire in Russia and 10 million refugess from flooding in Pakistan, but that doesn’t count because it actually happened so it had to be natural. OK. I am really going to check now.
Damn. could someone pony up the $2.95. I am too cheap to spend that money for playing on this site.

as an FYI for our warmie fools, the Fires from Russia and the Paki Flodds are laid at the feet of a certain Icelandic Volcano causing a disturbance in the weather. Oops. now you will have to protest mother earth for causing global weather events.
