Chicago Tribune March 2, 1975

A group of prominent scientists last month finished a two-year study which concludes that changes in the earth’s climate are inevitable and that mankind must learn to predict these variations.

The report said that a warming trend began in 1890 and continued until 1945. giving the world a half century of unusually balmy temperatures.

  1. Uh oh…. it wasn’t just in the popular media….. it was a scientists saying it too—a “panel” of em no less.

  2. “and mankind must learn to predict these variations”

    translation: we need funding

    • Mike Davis says:

In the 70s the need was to be able to determine the extent of natural weather variations and the patterns those followed. The problem the research lead off track and now we have a growth industry built around a false direction that was taken in the late 70s or early 80s which was AGW! Natural climate variations need to be research and better understood still but the money has been wasted chasing a phantom. And we are still unprepared for what the future holds.

Wow.. check out all those extremes they’re reporting in that article. I guess today’s scientists have forgotten all about them.

Come on, they had the concensus, they know everything
