The official temperature in Boulder is 59.5F and in Fort Collins it is 29.8F. An hour or so ago, downslope winds produced adiabatic warming in Boulder but they haven’t reached central Fort Collins yet. Winds in Boulder are gusting to 35 MPH, but are still calm in Fort Collins.
Adiabatic warming, as it is well known, is caused by CO2
Yes, there is a lot more CO2 in Boulder because of their left-wing political bent.
What’s the latest on the Venus front? Has anybody explained as yet why planetary atmospheres sport tropospheres, and why does CO2 warming play little or no role in the temperature profiles within those?
I was expecting to see a picture of a huge net over a Chinook helicopter. Living in Texas I have never heard of Chinook winds but I see plenty of Chinook helicopters from nearby Ft. Hood. I never bothered to learn why or how the helicopter got its name.
Since I have learned something new can I call it a day?
The Name for the CH-47 was given in honor of the Chinook people of the NW US. You will notice that US Army Helicopters are named after American Indian tribes. Apache, Black hawk, Iroquois(Huey), Kiowa etc.
Makes you appreciate NOT being there! Everyone complains about their crazy weather, but the Chinook is a bear!
I rode my bike down Harmony Rd. this morning and kept hitting pockets of warm and cold air.
You probably like swimming on New year’s Day in Lake Erie too! 😉
