They probably followed standard practices for the period the lines were buried. The problem currently is claims of warming would have reduced the required depth for the lines. When setting the water lines on my property I followed recommendations for Ohio rather than Tennessee as i wanted to reduce the risks of a major freeze. It is easier to adapt to warming than cooling.
With all the rotten ice breaking off glaciers in Greenland the good folks in N Ireland should hire a tugboat or two and go on a iceberg grab. Plenty of sparkling clean water then.
Wait…..couldn’t they just as well melt some of all that gorebal warmcold falling this year and have plenty of good clean green water?
I know many of the followers of Steve’s blog regularly visit WUWT but in keeping with Steve’s theme of reporting all the areas joining Northern Europe I felt like this would be a nice addition to the growing list.
