“The country is rejecting his agenda. My vision of America is diametrically opposed to his. He sees America as the problem. I see America as the solution,” she told Time magazine in an interview conducted by email.
When asked what she thought of Mr Obama’s presidency so far, she replied: “Two words: Jimmy Carter.” She added that “someone who can draw a sharp contrast” was capable of beating the incumbent in two years’ time.
And I was worried that you were just going to quote Palin just mouthing platitudes.
She is apparently a crackerjack of a hunter.
I had a Palin 2012 bumper sticker on my car before the 2008 election.
Amazing.
Do you also not believe in evolution and are you a dominionist to?
Hahahha. “Dominionist.” You throw that word out there like anyone would have a clue. For the uninformed, dominionism is a strawman created by ignorant , bigoted leftists. As they sit in their mother’s basement, Alarmists like to convince each other that conservative Christians are secretly plotting to overthrow our government and replace it with a theocracy. If your’e going to use a word like that, make sure your audience is no more than a dozen Kos Kids.
Evolution. You cling to it like a blanket. Skeptics never bring up the subject. With Alarmists, it’s like their own version of Tourette’s Syndrome. It makes you feel intellectually superior to your enemies. But contempt for religion leaves you with no moral underpinnings. In order to maintain your moral superiority you embrace environmentalism. Christians and capitalists don’t Care For Mother Earth like you do.
You are a benign tumor in the body politic. Benign for now, at least…
Mike M
No benign about it! These people have fastened themselves to a form of religious belief so they need to denounce all other forms of religious belief.
Mike,
I had no idea dominionism was a strawman. So the video I saw of Palin in her church in Wasilla where her pastor, among other things, was proclaiming Alaska will be one of the refuge states was a forgery by leftists?
I am glad to know that there are no radical christians who want to turn the US into a theocratic state.
Amazing what you know about my beliefs and attitudes.
I have studied evolution for 35 years, and it is a fascinating subject. I don’t think of people as enemies, and have no contempt for religion per se.
How is it again that you know all these things about me even though I have never discussed them here?
And Actually I have a couple of friends that are devout christians who are much more environmentalist that I am.
TonyD:
I guess you missed the videos of Obama’s pastor proclaiming the US is the worst country and everyone needs to revolt or follow the teachings of the Black Panthers and start rioting in the streets.
This is the guy Obama called a father figure.
Radical preachers are abundant throughout the country because we have religious freedom and free speech.
It is probably best to stick with the individuals say and do rather than someone they are associated with.
With the “O”, and I am not talking about Oprah, you need to judge by actions as spoken words have proven to be in contrast to results. Promises broken might have a bit to do with a loss of respect by those who voted for his propaganda.
Mike M,
Are you saying that dominionists, who denounce all other forms of belief are the danger? I don’t think that is who Mike was referring to.
lol, thanks for clearing that up for me. I wasn’t quite sure of the reference.
lol, Tony, this nation was always intended to be a theocracy of sorts.
Founding fathers…….”Ultimately man will be governed by God, or by Tyrants…”—– Ben Franklin—–(A re-phrasing of William Penn)
“It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.”—-George Washington
“It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.”— George Washington
“Revelation assures us that “Righteousness exalteth a Nation” – Communities are dealt with in this World by the wise and just Ruler of the Universe. He rewards or punishes them according to their general Character. The diminution of publick Virtue is usually attended with that of publick Happiness, and the publick Liberty will not long survive the total Extinction of Morals.” – Letter to John Scollay, April 30, 1776—-Samuel Adams
“We recognize no Sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus!”—John Adams
[April 18, 1775, on the eve of the Revolutionary War after a British major ordered John Adams, John Hancock, and those with them to disperse in “the name of George the Sovereign King of England.” ]
Now this is important, so read it twice!———————————
“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” –October 11, 1798—-John Adams
“God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure if we have removed their only firm basis: a conviction in the minds of men that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.”——-Thomas Jefferson
“Whilst we assert for ourselves a freedom to embrace, to profess and observe the Religion which we believe to be of divine origin, we cannot deny equal freedom to those whose minds have not yet yielded to the evidence which has convinced us. If this freedom be abused, it is an offense against God, not against man:To God, therefore, not to man, must an account of it be rendered.”——James Madison (note Madison encouraged a strict adherence to the separation of church and state)
“To promote true religion is the best and most effectual way of making a virtuous and regular people. Love to God and love to man is the sub[s]tance of religion; when these prevail, civil laws will have little to do. … The magistrate (or ruling part of any society) ought to encourage piety … [and] make it an object of public esteem. Those who are vested with civil authority ought … to promote religion and good morals among all their government.” – United States Founding Father, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, John Witherspoon,
“The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for among old parchments or musty records. They are written, as with a sunbeam, in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of the Divinity itself; and can never be erased.”——Alexander Hamilton
“Christianity is part of the common law” —-James Wilson: Signer of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, Supreme Court Justice appointed by George Washington
=====================================================
Well, I could go on, but you probably get the point, by now. Given my limited understanding of your definition of a “dominionist”, it would seem to me that they are simply a group of people that seek to reclaim what has been taken from them to begin with, signed into law by our founding fathers, many of whom regarded the laws not a gift from man, but rather a freedom being a gift from God, himself, an inalienable right. While many had different concepts of God, it was a given that all sought God and assumed such practice would continue and as Jefferson noted, must continue, that the very foundation of our freedoms are based necessarily upon the belief of a just God and all liberties flow from Him.
we may not know where Obama was born or his religion, but we have pretty good evidence about Palin’s beliefs.
She terrifies liberals.
She scares the crap out of me
She scares the crap out of limp-wristed Nancy boys.
i don’t know steven. all the the people i know who you would call ‘liberal’ are probably going to send palin money if the she runs.
she is obama’s only hope for re-election.
i don’t understand the enamoration. she is just as vacuous as obama, a spokesperson for whoever is paying her way. and a poor one at that. and she has a terrible record as mayor and governor, certainly as far as being ‘fiscally conservative’. just loads of debt of corrupt projects. she is no different from any other politician.
They said the same thing about Reagan
exactly.
the man made a career as corporate spokesman! primarily for g.e. no less, one of largest and most corrupt entities at the center of the Military-Industrial-Congressional-Complex.
talk about more debt and more war!
Huh? Reagan? What war? Career as a corporate spokesman? Well, I guess as much as a career as an actor, governor, and president. GE dropped Reagan in 62, he got out of the U.S. Army in 45. He didn’t shift politically until the 50s. Is there something wrong with being a corporate spokesperson?

=====================
Tony, are you a birther or think Obama is a secret Muslim? Becuase what you say doesn’t make sense otherwise. We know what church Obama has attended for the past 20 years, worse we know what the preacher of that church has preached during those 20 years and how Obama has praised that preacher as a father figure and close friend.
In answer to your question above, I have been following this debate on a daily basis for years. I know exactly the type of person showing up in these comment threads day after day. You reflexively brought up the subject of evolution and an obscure conspiracy theory that Christians are trying to establish a theocracy. You donned the colors of the typical Christian and capitalist-hating, angry atheist, environmental extremist.
Skeptics never raise the subject of evolution vs. creationism. Alarmists do it every time. “Oh, I suppose you think the world is only 6000 years old, too!” as the sneer usually goes while trying to debate about positive feedback or sea ice coverage. It’s a talking point drilled into you by the true haters like Romm. It makes it much easier to believe in the corollary, that “deniers” are too stupid to understand the science. Mighty helpful to convince the Orcs they are fighting lesser, unworthy beings.
So you actually have two friends who are Christians. Aren’t you the broadminded one. “Why, some of my best friends are Jews!” Heh. No one suspects you of being a Christian, do they Tony?
If the Republicans wimp out and put up a RINO for 2012, would the TEA-Party (or others) be able to fund her??
No. The Tea Party is not stupid. If they continue placing their own congressmen and take over the Senate, they can deal with a RINO. No one wants a middle of the road candidate in 2012, though. This will be as stark a contrast in ideology as the country has ever seen. Neither base wants anyone who utters the words “bipartisan cooperation.”
Well, let’s see, with Palin, we may get some folksy humor, some legitimate mistakes, an honest effort, and judging from her tenure as Governor, a much tougher individual than people think. Pro growth, Pro energy, Pro America. A constitutional conservative who loves this country.
Might she do something DRASTIC like, uh, restrict the joys of partial birth abortion? Serve Caribou (and say grace) at a state dinner?
Oh, the HORROR. The HORROR.
With Obama, we’re enduring a mass invasion of foreign nationals, our monetary system is headed for cataclysmic financial implosion, we may see dissolution of societal fabric. Our energy infrastructure and military castrated, we’re placed weak and vulnerable before our enemies. A usurper with not merely divided loyalties, but apparently NO loyalty to this country. And possibly (I would say apparently) a desire to do us great harm. Impending Armageddon. Why worry?
Which to choose? Gee, let me see, it’s such a difficult choice.
Is Sarah a Dominionist? – I suppose in as much as the founding fathers, who were both Christian and ULTRA conservative. Like it or not, this country IS of Christian/Conservative origin and principles.
She isn’t my first pick, but I’ll vote for her ten times if she is the nominee.
I always wonder why socialists don’t emigrate to Cuba or Bolivia.
Instead they seem to prefer the benefits of capitalism.
The founding fathers at least believed in freedom of religion, not enforcing their religious beliefs on non-believers as some of the Palin crowd would do.
I’m beginning to believe that it really doesn’t matter whose president, they all basically listen to the same advisors on the truly important issues, as Bush did with the bailouts and Obama with the war on terror.
When considering which Republican candidate to vote for, it’s best to consider the Buckley Rule.
Vote for the most conservative but electable candidate. Always push the envelope to the right.

Michael Palin is funnier ………….. just!
“Contrary to what the politicians and religious leaders would like us to believe, the world won’t be made safer by creating barriers between people. ” – Michael Palin
Bush 44 (Obama) is looking nervous lately. I keep trying to read his lips but it’s so hard when he’s talking out of both sides of his mouth.

A lot of people in the rest of the world are starting to think of americans as fat and stupid, Palin won’t roll back that tide, she will promote it.
When I was growing up Americans were seen as very clever indeed. Then Ronnie Raygun got in and things went down hill. After Raygun, Bush Jnr and possibly Palin this will be your 3rd President who gets into power by just making people feel good. Neither the first 2 had good terms in office.
Andy
Amusing to the say the least. Psychotic to say the most. Clearly you are too young to remember what Reagan DID. To make statements like you did, when even crass liberals acknowledge his accomplishments (without giving him credit) indicates you are completely clueless and have no idea what the hell you are talking about.
