Hottest Year Ever : Philadelphia 2010 Colder Than 1828

With cold weather forecast in Philadelphia for the next two weeks, it looks like Philadelphia’s hottest year ever will end more than a degree cooler than the year 1828.

    Steve, are you comparing a densely developed downtown location (1828) to a relatively rural airport location in 2010? We need not stoop to the level of our opposition if that is the case.

    A modern day rural airport probably produces as much waste heat as an urban location in the 1880s. That still leaves the quality of the equipment.
