Something else they now say was always part of global warming. Everything is global warming. The world could be a giant snow ball and they will say it is global warming. The polar bear population could grow tenfold and they will say they overlooked something in global warming. Sea level could drop and they will say they missed a prediction of global warming that was always there. Glaciers could doble in size, etc., etc.
The endless claims of weather being due to global warming remind me of a UK comedy show called Goodness Gracious Me, where one guy insists that everyone famous is Indian. AGW arguments are almost as random but nowhere near as funny.

Somebody should take the next logical step and sue Monbiot for not alerting the UK Government and population about the upcoming cold winter.
Sums it up pretty well, really.
lol, the cooling is because of warming and we told you that all along!
(Except when it warms, in which case, we say, “see, we told ya so.”)
Monbiot is a sad and lonely person who speaks with forked tongue. Desperately trying to keep the AGW speculation alive. This is a man who can see the gravy train coming off the rails and thinks that double talk is going to save him. Shame on you for predicting warmer winters then latching onto colder winters due to global warming. SAD!
RECENT OBSERVATIONS
And now the Met Office predicts that this December will be the coldest since 1910.
Obviously the best kept secret in the universe…..
You have to admit, they are getting much better at hind-casting
no one is buying it
Every weather scenario that could possibly occur can be infered from some climate Krank’s theory or prediction. Heck, half the klimate prediction are counter to the other half of the predictions.
Wasn’t one of the Klimate Kranks dire predictions that tropical diseases would migrate north (which was already debunked anyway), but how does that jibe with the “predicted” colder winters?
I did notice a whole of ,,if,and, but perhaps and maybee in the article.. along with the buty covering
Poor Wee Geordie. Still can’t let go, a year after a ClimateGate that kept him awake night after night.
His tenacity, in holding on to long-held and much-cherished beliefs, is admirable and sad in equal measure.
Notwithstanding the sorry accident of birth that associated the twin anagrams of Bin and Moot with his surname (the Gods can be cruel) I’m still of the opinion that he will complete his pilgrimage to Damascus and convert to CAGW apostasy.
Steve, since the moonbat seems to have such overwhelming confidence in the virtually 100% predictive power of CAGW theory, couldn’t you try publicly challenging him to tell us now what it predicts for next year’s UK summer and winter seasons? And precisely because his claimed confidence in the theory is so absolute, shouldn’t he be willing to put his money where his big mouth is and bet his own house on a correct forecast? If he dodges the challenge, as we all expect he would, then we might fairly conclude that CAGW theory is only ever good at hind-casting, and then only with a great deal of highly “creative” adjustments.
If he did make a forecast and it was wrong he might come up with “My prediction was wrong because there was something I overlooked……”
He cannot be wrong.
The prediction is that CAGW will cause floods, droughts, rains, sunny days, clouds, absence of clouds, high clouds, low clouds, strong winds, weak winds, normal winds, hot days, cold days, deaths, births, various epidemics, the absence of various epidemics, snow….
I don’t doubt that he would, but he would have still have clearly lost in the eyes of the world. I am tired of them continually getting away with this crap. Something needs to be done to nail them. Perhaps I will suggest this strategy to Dellingpole.
Remember this very recent statement from the UK Met Office’s Vicky Pope: “…we are starting to see a trend of fewer cold winters and more heatwaves in Britain, which we can link to global warming.”? It is only possible to interpret this as a claim that global warming is causing fewer cold winters in the UK. This is a direct contradiction of what Monbiot is now saying a mere month later. Why can’t somebody nail Vicky Pope with this? Does global warming (if it exists) cause warmer or colder UK winters? Please answer, Ms Pope.
He’s talking in circles on this explaination. He starts with the reference to the Potsdamn Institute saying less arctic ice means colder European winters, then switch hits to Hansen saying only 3 of the last 10 winters have been colder. Which is it?
He actually states “the pattern………. is unclear” …. and that they “can’t predict the depth of winter solely on sea ice”…which is what he just tried to do a few sentences earlier.
This whole death spiral business is tricky. 🙂
Boy! George
Hey there Georgie Girl
Sorry about being repetitive, but isn’t this what is commonly referred to as “bait and switch?”
I am a betting man. So who wants to bet me on SuperBowl XLIV?
Hindsight is 20/20 to all but the most stubborn and blind. How thick are Monbiot’s glasses?
I will tale the Chicago bears for Super Bowl XX!
I will take San Fransisco for Supper Bowl XIX!
No Fair! I get first “guess”! 😉
Why do some people still believe in this AGW crap ?
This is old hat. The idea of Global Warming causing a new Ice Age was all the rage in the early 1980s. The truth the CAGCC folks are scrambling to avoid owning up to is that their models MISSED IT. Maybe this is how Mamma Gaia deals with a bit of overheating? Maybe these chilled gas fronts blowing down from the poles will cool the rest of the world. Maybe these moisture-laden weather systems will blow over Europa and make North Africa a green paradise once again?
