TVA has been setting utility records this month, apparently from all those hot people in Tennessee running their air conditioners.

TVA has got that one right. It is a touch cold here!
The year 2009 was the hottest for him, actually, for accusations of his playing TSA with a woman in his motel room
Such a buffoon! And to think he almost became President.
We’ve got calendar years, financial years, and now climate years?? WTF?
I seem to recall a climategate email explaining why the scam artists kept releasing T data earlier. Some sort of a christmas joke wasn’t it? Anyone recall?
For years the meteorological year has been Winter= DJF, Spring= MAM, Summer= JJA, and Fall= SON. It was non Meteorologists that started using calendar years to confuse the issue.
“barring some temperature anomaly in December” like winter in the Northern Hemisphere.
I think its great that they are going to pronounce that 2010 was the hottest year ever. When most people remember a very cold start and a very cold end with a colder than normal middle they might finally realise that they’re being fed a pile of bull$hit
If the so-called warmest year ever results in sustained record cold throughout the planet then we have nothing to worry about, or we need to change how we measure this. If I were Algore I wouldn’t hard sell the “warmest year evaahh!” bit.
Only in modern times does it get colder when it gets warmer. Therefore, by this twisted logic, there is a perfectly rational explanation as to why its so freaking cold:- its obviously very hot!
Yeah, the whole global warming thing is freezing me to death! Thanks, Al! Oh, and thanks for single-handedly creating the whole internet, too!
Hot, cold or in between, every month is the hottest on record, every year is the hottest on record. I can’t wait for them to say that this was the hottest December on record.
