Tree hugger explains. Global warming makes non-existent record cold Arctic air hold more moisture. The Arctic has been warming out of control for decades, so the record cold air you think you are feeling doesn’t really exist, and even if it did – you are an insignificant pipsqueak on the planet compared to Moscow or Tuvalu.
Satire and the actual article… can’t tell the difference…
Jeff Masters makes my skin crawl…….
Since this is dead winter in the Arctic, all that hot air up there is losing heat really fast.
Don’t these dead beats know if cold Arctic air is falling south and being replaced with hot air, there’s nothing to warm the hot air up?
Nah, all that cold air is rushing out of the Arctic to be replaced by the warm air that used to be in all the other places that were warm but are now sooooooo cold (US, Siberia etc.)
Soon, we will have beach parties in the Arctic because Cancun has cooled and Nunavut is scorching!
It is normal for warm air to move towards the poles and escape to space. It is normal for warm water to move to the poles to cool and continue the circulation. Less energy entering the system in the tropics will result in less warm air and less warm water which will slow down the transport mechanisms and move the extreme weather further south as the interface between cold air masses and warm air masses moves due to the contraction of warm air masses. Resulting in a colder planet overall. There is and always has been a lag between energy coming into the system and energy leaving the system. Without the necessary level coming in to maintain recent levels of warmth when this is gone we will have to wait until the sun gets a bit more active to recharge the system.
Any land mass is a small percentage of the earth’s surface. All land masses are a small percentage of the earth’s surface. Do we need a peer review to make that determination?
