The claim of 2010 as a “hot” year is based on a region of above normal temperatures in nearly uninhabited Northeast Canada and Western Greenland. This was caused by the record low Arctic Oscillation, which made the inhabited areas of the Northern Hemisphere very cold.
Is minus 20C hot?
Exactly my point a couple of weeks ago…this “global anomaly” value seems meaningless in the extreme…
Temperature is Einsteinian, if I may turn a phrase.
If you are used to -40, then yes, -20 is hot. From personal experience as well. Working in -50, makes -20 feel positively balmy.
In the grand scheme, nah.
of course if the area is largley unihabited, ( I have been in that area and it is) what are they using to determine the temps?
Glen, an experienced climate scientist can just look at it and tell……….
Well, yeh, using real thermometers are such a bother. You have to go back and adjust them anyway, its not really worth the time.
Hansen just makes up numbers assuming a 1,200km radius… with one thermometer… it’s data fabrication and thus FRAUD but then there is a peer reviewed paper that allows that. Kinda like a dictate from a government allowing the digital rape of people at the airport by The Sexual Assault gropers.
A flight over Bornholm, Denmark right now (video), how do you like them beans..

What more would you expect to see if the satellite record started during the positive phase of the AO and the AO has now shifted to the negative phase. That is one example of why a 30 year climate base is a fantasy!
