Polar temperatures are in total collapse. Look at today’s maps. Isn’t the Antarctic Peninsula supposed to be the fastest warming place on the planet?

Does anybody know why they have been so abnormally cold?
Global warming. You actually had to ask?
LOL!
All the heat moved to North East Canada. There’s some pictures somewhere of the people all laying out on deck chairs in their bathing suits, sipping cocktails.
What Dave said….
There’s a little green dot on Antarctica, that’s where the last palm tree is
All kidding aside, something blew both poles apart this year, that’s for sure
Is all true. I mentioned the principles in an earlier thread.

I’m talking my wife into vacationing up there next winter! This is gonna take snowbirding to a whole different meaning!
Well yah! Exactly what Neil said. To be more technical, and to put it in a formula,
hot = cold, so the inverse must also be true that cold = hot. Only right now things are well, pretty much cold everywhere except in NE Canada and W Greenland, so one has to invoke Hansen’s algorerhythm, and there you have it. I call it the “inverse refrigerator paradox”. That’s right, you heard it here first!
Its all pretty much straight forward.
Off to shoot pool, but I’ll be back to explain the more technical aspects if necessary!
Ok, well, I’m no comedian. I thought the stuff was funny……sigh.
Anomaly maps are helpful, but a similar map showing actual temperatures would add context.
For instance, it is doubtful anyone is out sunbathing on Baffin Island.
That’s true.
The thermometre is located next to the campfire of an Inuit camp.
It’s next to a burn barrel or heated barracks at a lonely airport outpost in a frozen wasteland.
There was a picture of a monitoring station next to the generator for the research station. I believe I saw it on WUWT as an example of how not to site weather monitoring thermometers.
The lack of ice is allowing all that solar energy to shine on the region of NE Canada and W Greenland raising the temperature there and like a refrigerator it is forcing the cold air through the earth and spilling out of Antarctica because some polar researcher forgot to shut the refrigerator door the last time the were at the pole. You realize that means that Santa forgot to turn down his thermostat when he went for his sleigh ride the other night. May he has collected to many reindeer and the methane is causing the problem?
Any chance of Steve dong a post and comment on this?;

I’ve done several posts on those exact maps.
Sorry Steve, I must have missed them.
They need to extend the white right into Alberta. I forecasted my station temperature 1 day into the future(unlike Hansens 6-9 months into the future) and we will be .1C above normal…..JFMA, yes way above normal thanks to El Nino, however, since then we have been on a steady decline.
but then, 1 year is just weather (unless its hot)…
Lazarus,
Bing! You win today’s prize for being the first to bring up James Hansen.
