As you can see in the picture above, the tropics are expanding – just as climate scientists forecast.
But suppose that actually did happen? What would the effect be? A primary response would be that CO2 would contribute less to the greenhouse effect. In the tropics, almost all of the LW radiation is absorbed by water vapour and clouds. The high humidity makes CO2 almost irrelevant.

Similarly, polar warming would lead to higher humidity and reduced importance of CO2 as a greenhouse gas. Good thing for alarmists that Antarctica is cooling.
Says a lot for the general intelligence, when we can be convinced that warming is a bad thing……………
Even if it were true.

“Opponents of climate change, they say—‘see, look at that, there is all this snow on the ground’—this doesn’t mean anything.” … “I want to just be clear that the science of climate change doesn’t mean every place is getting warmer. It means the planet—as a whole—is getting warmer.”
I hope Obama turns on his solar today

Yeh, and what water vapor wouldn’t get, nitrous oxide would in the 4-5 range.
BTW, McShane and Wyner have a “rejoinder” published to their critics. As one would imagine, its full have heavy statistical lifting, but there are some fun parts in there too……..
Compounding matters, SMR implement their allegedly objective criteria in non-standard and arbitrary ways and several times in error. (SMR= Schmidt, Mann and Rutherford)….
But this was the beauty!
We fault many of our predecessors for assiduously collecting and presenting
all the facts that confirm their theories while failing to seek facts that contradict
them. For science to work properly, it is vital to stress one’s model to its fullest capacity(Feynman, 1974).
Back in the 1970s, before this all became a political football, there was a Dr. Ellingson who taught radiation classes at the U of MD who was telling his students that CO2 was rapidly reaching a saturation point and most additional CO2 would simply settle out. Thus he did not believe that CO2 was an important greenhouse gas. Was he wrong, or did the truth get distorted with time?

Water vapour is indeed the strongest greenhouse gas. But Steve, you are ignoring the fact that CO2 and water vapour are linked. Water vapor creates a positive feedback loop in the atmosphere.
Water vapor feedback roughly doubles the amount of warming caused by CO2. So if there is a 1°C change caused by CO2, the water vapor will cause the temperature to go up another 1°C. When other feedback loops are included, the total warming from a potential 1°C change caused by CO2 is, in reality, as much as 3°C (http://maths.ucd.ie/met/msc/ClimSyn/heldsode00.pdf).
Exactly. The extra H2O makes the CO2 less effectual, which is why it is a negative feedback.
Keep it positive, Steve! Where’s the evidence for your alledged negative feedback loop? Lemme guess: you’re not going to answer this question.
I explained it in the article.

Wait a second, you weren’t expecting predictions from global warming scientists to happen, were you?
