A November 2006 United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization report found that livestock accounts for 18 percent of global warming emissions worldwide, more than the entire transportation sector.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

They obsess over cattle because they want to force the world to become vegan.
Global Warming justifies all of their obsessions. You have to eat locally grown veggies so fuel won’t be expended to ship them to you. Global Warming is also racist. It makes storms that only affect poor people.
Except that many people seem to swear by “organic” foods now. Oddly enough many organic foods are shipped quite a distance because many plants don’t grow so well year round in temperate climates without a nice “inorganic” boost!

Apparently organic cattle fart less.
“Farms that raise organic beef raise cows that grow to a normal size so they don’t create more methane (a greenhouse gas 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide) than necessary. ”

I’m sorry, but that’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. If a cow is say, 20% bigger, then doesn’t it produce 20% more GHGs but also 20% more products? Seems like the GHG/product ratio probably doesn’t change and your quote shows that the whole thing is just political in nature anyway.

Never mind those cows – them soil and water bacteria are killers !! We are doomed !!1!1!
This is a load of bull$hit. They don’t account for the fact that bovines sequester carbon as well, THEY GOTTA EAT YOU KNOW.
Cows can’t magically produce carbon, they gotto eat it before farting it.
Have they figured out that man is responsible for less than 1/2 percent yet?……
So what is the difference between a cow eating grass and farting vs. bacteria consuming the dead plant and producing CO2 from it? The cow may speed up the process slightly, but in any long- and even medium-scale measure of events, there shouldn’t be a difference.
From my reckoning, the only viable way to increase the long-term amount of carbon in the atmosphere is to free it from within the earth from otherwise inaccessible forms, such as coal or oil.

Well this pretty much explains the vanishing Arctic ice cap. The polar bear population has increased dramatically in the past 30 years, and seal farts must be a powerful GHG cocktail.
Now that we know that the heat roasting the planet in late 2010 came from the Arctic, it seems clear that polar bear emissions must be reduced if we are to avert a catastrophic runaway really bad climate and all that.
