   A WHOLE bunch of heat gets absorbed in the water and ground that is free from ice after the sun goes down! At the angle the sun strikes the water at those latitudes the water surface is more reflective than fractured and jumbled ice.
   These people really need to stop and think before the repeat these wild ass claims.

   Oh that explains why it is -43C with a 30 Km/hr wind, which gives a wind chill of -64C, in Chesterfield Inlet.
